I have researched and given it much thought and peak oil is when the oil industry as a whole lets existing wells fall into disrepair. When less oil comes out of the ground shortages occure. The price rises and they make profits. This economic crisis is a case of the puppeteers moving the politicans into a place of cover when they sell of the USA's proven and unproven reserves. I believe this is a man made peak and is designed to consolidate global supplies in the hands of a few.
