  • you cant even watch a FUCKING MOVIE!!!! i OWN the fucking movie its not like im tryna watch porn online!... i just wanna watch my Predators on bluray!!!!!! the fuck?! the hell is this sit... its not like im tryna play LIVE with the homie on xbox... im just tryna play campaign you feel me?? im just tryna watch my fucken film. this shit is stupid

  • I want my money back from this blue ray player....wont play my dvd tried on two different tvs

  • Ok so I purchased the 3600 a year and a half ago. I just recently updated the firmware on it, and my only option for streaming is youtube. Where is my netflix?!

  • I also have problem with Samsung BluRay & NetFlix. I have a belkin router hard wired to bluray & TV recvr. I open Network Connections & see that my 'wireless' connection has 'limited or no connectivity'. I call COX (ISP) they are helpful to a point. So I've had no NetFlix for days "Network interference has occurred.Plz try again later". Last nite I suddenly had Netflix bak came in to check Network Connctns still said no 'connectivity' but watched movies

via Netflix. I'm very confused (:>(

  • Thanks for this video. My parents just experienced a very similar issue and your observations and demonstration were extremely useful. They are going to try a Firmware update for their unit which is out now. Good work!

  • I know this video was made quite sometime ago, but maybe the player works best with a samsung dongle and a 2wire router with high speed Internet just a guess but I could be wrong, but if your netgear router has a weak signal it might not work well on the player.

  • I have the same issue with the 3600

  • Huh that sucks.

  • I don't think it's Samsumg or your internet connection. I think it's Netflix! I don't have problems with any of my equipment untill I try to connect to Netflex.

  • I got a new netgear router and now my BD550 wont connect to the internet. It used to work fine with my Linksys....piece of shit router. Idk what the deal is. I changed all kinds of settings for the WAN, LAN, and firewalls and still nothing has changed.

  • After my last forced firmware update I now have the same problems with netflx and now blue ray player will not play blue rays only plays DVDS ????They CAUSED THE PROBLEM WITH THE UPDATE!!!! Nice to know a month after your warentee is up they can flick a switch on their end to make you player no longer work. NEVER GONNA BUY SAMSUNG AGAIN. If you research on the internet they did the same shit back in 2009 read a page like 300 people all saying same thing UPDATE Messed everything up

  • the reason you are having a hard time with the unit is because you too much trust what you think is right without even understanding that you do not know how the unit was created. we have the same unit and got the same issue. i never called customer support for assistance since i understand how the unit works.

  • My new Linksys E3000 will not work with my Samsung BRD using direct ethernet wire. A Best Buy retailer told me that Samsung has all sorts of problems and to buy a ROKU player from Netflix. It solved my problem and have excellent video now. Samsung is junk.

  • it's a router issue.....go to your router website it begins with 192. and turn off your wireless firewall.

  • Why the hell would u bother doing this when u could build a media center to do the same thing cheaper and easier??

  • i can only play youtube videos which have been uploaded before jan 2011, i cant watch anything new, but it plays old youtube videos no problem

  • This isn't entirely the BD player's fault, it is most likely an issue with how your router or ISP retrieves the DRM license from Netflix.

  • I haven't had problems with Pandora or Netflix, but lately some YouTube videos won't play. Very annoying! Anyone know of a fix for this? The firmware is updated. From the looks of these posts, maybe that's the problem. :-(

  • @tparbs That's my problem, too. I think it's a mistake doing the firmware updates :-( I'd like to know the answer, too! YouTube used to play no problem---every one I played. Now 8 out of 10 times the YouTube video won't play.

  • what a piece of FUCKING shit. I had mine working fine, but all of a fucking sudden after a firmware fucking update, that i never wanted in the first place, my network settings were reset and now I can't fucking connect to my fucking router!!!!!

  • Don't think that this is only Samsung. I have a Sony and have the same problems. More so on Hulu than on Netflix but it does happen on Netflix enough to be a pain in the ass. Tech support told me that the blu-ray players just don't have the ability to stream as good as a laptop does. In other words these Blu-Ray players just aren't ready for prime time yet. Thanks for posting because I was going to dump my Sony for a Samsung and now I won't thanks to you...

  • Are these issues only with wireless connections to the Samsung. I have a Wireless N network and have this same issue I wonder if I hard wired the network if it would be more reliable. Any one know?

  • I have a Samsung BD-p1600 that connects without difficulty to Pandora, but I can't connect to YouTube. All it does is show that it's attempting to connect, but it never does. I haven't even tried Netflix yet. However, I have a vague recollection of a recent firmware upgrade just last week.

  • I also have had a problem with my Samsung BD-p1600. Samsung tech support has offered nothing after four separate phone calls

  • We have the EXACT same problems!!! We are done with Samsung and have moved on to using our Wii to watch Netflix. Much, much better user interface and much faster. Plus, it actually works. I will never buy another Samsung product ever again.

  • I can't even begin to explain how angry this makes me. I was once a HUGE Samsung supporter, after the problems with no updated firmware and the the problems after updating to the "better" firmware, I'm never buying another Samsung product again.

  • Yeah, exact same problem. It worked fine until a couple months ago.

I foolishly agreed to let it upgrade the firmware and Netflix has been broken ever since. Thanks Samsung.

  • This is a problem with a BDP 1600 also. I am a Cisco engineer. I tested over an RJ-45 LAN (not WiFi) and I ran priority class marking for the video/audio traffic. I changed the frame MTUs and all the other usual stuff. I can run the same stream on my PC with no problems. I suspect the last firmware update chewed up the TCP/IP stack. Moral of the story, DON'T BUY SAMSUNG BLU-RAY as they don't respond to customer service.

  • I can't stream any Netflix movies since doing the latest firmware update. Netflix says it's Samsung's fault and Samsung says it's Netflix's fault.

  • Exact same problem with my Samsung Blu Ray Player!!!

  • having same problem with Sony blu-ray 460. Since I hooked HDMI to Samsung LED 6300 HD TV buffering problems started. Research claims ISP can't keep up with speed but Comcast connection seems fine with my computers also...Buffering problems were not nearly as bad when non HDMI connections used on regular TV

  • i received this unit last year for free when i bought a mitsubishi dlp tv. i haven't tried the streaming as yet, so i don't know if it's gonna work or not. now i know why they were giving them away. lol

  • ugh, glad to see I'm not the only one this is happening to. Very frustrating to be watching a movie & it drops the connection.

  • change your wirless security from wpa2 to regular wpa, that might help i heard

  • i have had the same problem with mine. It's pretty frusterating. I used to think so highly of samsung but with their blu ray players I don't think i'll buy samsung again.

  • YES! Thanks! I have tried EVERYTHING! I even did a hard wire modem connection and it does the same thing! I'm happy (and not ) to know thats it's not just me!!!

  • I just got my player back from the second time in the repair shop, this time it was in for over two months and they said they would send me a new one and a refurb showed up with only a 90 day warranty on it. I hope my year is still good. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this player or SAMSUCK but I plan to post on every forum and outlet I can to warn people away from them.

  • I let it update the firmware now this piece of shit won't play anything anymore. It plays a couple of region 1 but will not play any rentals or any of the store bought DVD I own.......it took a bit of effort but after drilling enough holes in this garbage we managed to sink it in the lake and went and bought a real blu ray player.....an LG !!!!!

  • Take it back for a refund. And replace it with a Panasonic there alot better.
