this guitar used to live at my house.. it was in the shop for a repair & Pat was checking it out... the pickups were a set of Michael Schenker custom wounds (Lights Out, IIRC).

You can get a good clean sound from anything, be it a Gibson L-5 or an EMG equipped 8 string djent machine. Honestly, I've heard good clean sounds from both guitars

you're most likely playing a dean ml xm... 169.99 job... he's playing a dean usa... i would assume natural mahogany finish... can't really see the grain in the wood but doesnt look like a maple cap... but i could be wrong

mahogany, basswood, dofferent tones from a ibanez n a dean, but wich one is better are personal matter!!!!!

any guitar isnt able to play metal or jazz, etc... the music comes from a musicians.

you can even play meta with strats, but anyway dean rocks, and i liked ibanez a lot tooo

Thats not a Dean ML/XM, that is a USA model. ML/XM are made in either China or Korea, they're made from basswood, bolt on neck, real cheap. USA's are all handmade in Tampa, made from mahogany, set neck, real expensive. But they are definately worth the price. You should give a USA Dean a try and see how you like it.

I found a Dean ML at my local guitar center, Brand New, for 160 bucks and its awesome. I also own and 81 Ibanez blazer, and reall, thier both awesome, But if your a Metal head, you can beat a Dean.

In MY opinion, Dean makes better guitars than that of Gibson and Ibanez. I play METAL and Dean guitars just have the best pickups in 'em. and the tone is AMAZING! Thanks DEAN!
