I remember I got this a couple years ago, it took like a week to get rid of. We had to have Microsoft use remote assistance to get rid of it. This was the biggest pain in the ass, and I don't know why I'm looking at it again on the internet. Also, my dad got it by downloading it from Winrar from a faulty website.

What u could do is make a blank notepad then call it hosts and move it into the etc file and delete the old 1 if u still hav the virus..

i hate this virus i accendently put it on my firends computer i got rid of it by pretty much deleting everything in note pad and replacing it with swear words but the worst thing about this virus was this:

i just resolved this and what you do is..

go to notepad in accessories and right click and run as administrator.

Then locate the host and delete all and save

if it still goes try uninstall and re-install

That what i did with my safari, firefox and ie

Safari might have to be re-installed

The intervalhehehe trojan isn't much of a virus when it comes right down to it. The intermittent popup can be gotten rid of with system restore. The internet can be gotten back with the technique used in this video.
