  • One of my favorite songs on the album. Awesome work Travis.

  • I love your sense of time.. really nice

  • I could listen to this song for the rest of my fucking life.

  • it sucks, you do some crazy progressive shit, i cant do any of that stuff in my band, if i do i feel like im forcing something thats not supposed to be there. i envy you man :*(

  • do you ever trigger any of your drums?

  • i love how the camera shakes every time u hit the toms and bass

  • I can't believe this has only had 5,800 views. It was posted back in october, but I still watch it nearly every time I get onto youtube

  • Hey man, you should post a video of you playing something by Jaga Jazzist. That would be pretty sick!

  • This sounds absolutely amazing, I keep listening to it and it sounds way more creative every time :D

  • this is the kind of deep music that i love to listen to and write. but i cant seem to find the track anywhere......can u please help so i can meditate to greatness?

  • 6/8 is such a creative time signature

  • What is the 18" DRK Flat Ride like (as both a crash and a regular ride)? I am planning on getting one because I don't like the wash on my current ride and like the idea of a much darker sound, also my current side sounds terrible when I crash it.

    Thanks in advance.

  • @AlexRiot1000 The video didn't suffice? Haha.

  • Crap, and how do you tune all your drums? medium?

  • How do you get your snare to not have any ring? is it the black suede x?

  • what size is that bass drum you've got there? is it another 20x16?

  • dude, nevermind haha i just read the first comment..

  • That's a phatty looking snare.. what snare is it/size?

  • The real jazz guys know that jazz has no rules! at least the cool ones.

  • Digging that snare! I love how much sensitivity it has despite the massive depth and body. Probably my favourite snare sound in any of your videos, and you ALWAYS have awesome snare sounds!

  • hey travis

i was wondering if you could orbinate my fridge freezer combo?

you see, the fridge wont keep my cola cold enough and the freezer wont stop freezer burning my frozen meat goods.

by the looks of it your fridge and freezer work fine though

  • i cant wait till the cyclamen album comes out oct 25!!!

  • beautiful

  • You're drumming is seriously a work of art, Travis.

  • Excellent drumming travis. You are #1 awesome!

  • @gleegin Thank you kindly!

  • I don't understand what you're doing. You're not covering a song, right? But you're also not recording a drum track for all these different bands. Someone fill me in?

  • @PisolMan You can tell on their facebook page the song 'never ending dream' is travis playing. It sounds like the final recording too..

  • @PisolMan I think but i'm not sure, that many people ask Travis to take part in their projects as an "expert guest" for the composition/improvement of drum parts sometimes already programmed/written. These projects are often not achieved but for example, he's the drummer on the Cyclamen album coming soon, on the Andy Gruhin or SEA EPs too.

Travis seems to be focused a lot on studio drumming and it can be hard to find a band he really belongs to, strictly speaking... except SEA maybe.

  • @PisolMan No, I am (the latter); this will be featured on a unique EP following Cyclamen's 'Senjyu' release. The backing track is from the actual album but sans drums.

  • I would love to know what kind of wood that snare is made out of!

  • @IAmJamesRoy Craviotto 8x14 ash; I also utilized it on the SEA EP on a tune called "Motion Sickness."

  • 2:40 Well, that was fucking awesome

  • Quite amazing. Your versatility is something I admire!

  • Close to doom metal.

    Pretty amazing sound my friend...

  • Brilliant

  • are those some new cymbals or the same as your setup video the rides sound different

  • I love how the kick makes the cam blurry

  • bbzzzz-THACK

  • I should clarify my last post: "2:40 - Crap, dude," as in, "I like it. ...And don't ask me to transcribe that."

  • @Peartyboy Hehe, she's a doozy.

  • I really enjoyed the syncopation and metric modulation you did on this one. Some interesting polyrhythmic textures as well, excellent work. I have to say that I enjoyed this more than some of your insanely spastic work!

  • 2:40 - Crap, dude.

  • Awesome drum sound, you're one of the best drummers on YouTube I know. You rule, man!

  • This is the Jazz Police. You're in big trouble, mister. Give up. You haven't got a chance.

  • Very nice.

  • Very nice sir orbin.... keep it up brudda.

  • Love it! I think Cyclamen really meets your style.

This kind of "minimalist" song is full of emotions, I can't help turning the sound up and just "loudly" feeling this dramatic atmosphere.

Please, carry on doing this great job with Hayato-san.

  • Nice song

  • Isn't that a new crash cymbal on your right?

  • @SabianTamaDrummer It's a ride cymbal, it says so in the description :)

  • Very cool song can't wait to recieve the CD.

  • this isnt your ligue at all but good playing, like always :)

  • @kshayk0 You're a retard. This is one of the most musically challenging songs I've ever heard Travis play.

  • @amjan i dont think so...this is very easy for travis

  • @kshayk0 I think @amjan was being sarcastically impolite. Besides, people don't call @mooktank aka Pete Peterson a retard just like that haha.

  • @kshayk0 Will you use your brain for a second? I didn't say it's "technically" difficult. Of cours it isn't! Duh?! It's MUSICALLY challenging, because it requires using means of expression that won't distruct from the flow of the piece.

You have to keep it simple but at the same time you gotta somehow make it sound original and not generic.

    TASTEFULNESS is the word, kid.

It is way more difficult to make a piece like this one sound special than what Travis usually plays sound spectacular.
