Immigrants are always the poorer folks of their native, mostly traveling with little money to see a better life in their new host country.

A few corrections are needed. You are indeed American. When labeled so, people are referring to your nationality, which in fact, is what farizzal means. @DemoFly Huh? I was disagreeing with somebody who implied certain Italians are hypocritical because they oppose immigration to their country when so many Italians immigrated to the new world. I don't know how you construed that as me criticizing Chinese immigrants.

@DellDreamer All the countries you listed above has Italians who are very much integrated in those societies. Lets take your neiborhood and flood them with people from the third world who really don't like you, break your laws, abuse the welfare system and see if you complain.

We were doing fine before we started letting them import their cheap products made with dirt-poor labor and nonexistent safety, environmental, and quality standards. Women didn't have to work, now both parents have to work longer hours and have less money.

Idiot. While this may be part of the reason, you still depend on it. Back in "The Good Old Days" women had no right to work and since then their rights have evolved. Compare the population: back then to now. We have medicine and a huge growth rate rendering unemployment not an option for survival. Working longer and harder? Bah! i think not, you know very little of the conditions back then. Less money; maybe but that is only due to inflation from USA screwing the economy. YOU DEPEND ON THEM.

Whether or not women had rights is a separate issue. The point is, Americans work much more today for a lower standard of living. My grandfather was able to work at a factory which manufactured actual products, without even a high school diploma, and still buy a 5 bedroom house on 2 acres, several cars, a boat, and unlimited healthcare for himself and my grandmother, with no deductible, and also raise 3 kids and send them to college. And my grandmother never had to work. Do that today, Einstein.

Did you even read my comment. As apathetic as it may sound, times have changed. It's survival of the fittest and always has been. Bigger population and Inflation means competition, and if you don't like it then do something about it. Other than that, once again proving my point you can't survive without exports and imports. You wouldn't even be typing on your computer right now or under a roof. Prices would be MUCH MUCH more expensive. All this happened in the last 30 years.

Why wouldn't I be typing on a computer? They were invented by White men in the US and built here, until all our jobs were shipped out, that is. We don't need peons in asia to make our computers. We can't even manufacture our own military's uniforms and medals now. Maybe we'll get China to build our jets and carriers, too, and the ammo to shoot at them if we go to war, lol.

I'd like to pick a bone with the mention of gypsies as well, but the second woman worded her statement very carefully. Gypsies are treated awfully in Italy :\ And they could easily solve the problem of unwanted gypsy camps by setting up caravan parks/camping grounds. (not saying all gypsies live in caravans, but ones that don't aren't likely to set up camp) It could even help pacify their accommodation problem to an extent.

You mean the one that, according to your profile, you live in? Kyrgyzstan has, and has never had any role to play on any world stage whatsoever. Your so called amazing country has a GNP less than that of many companies, at 116th in terms of HDI its hardly prosperous. I'm not a huge fan of the UK, but its a shitload better than Kyrgyzstan. And by the way, this island isn't sinking... the north is rising while the south is returning to its normal state, do some research.
