I began listening to Opera because of Luciano, therefore, I am biased but I much prefer D'amico to Contrubas or Finni. Her voice seems to be much more "gentle"; therefore, not "screeching" in the high notes. She has one of those perpetual "sad" faces which stands her in good stead for the part of the "ill" Mimi. She is, in my humble opinion, a better actress.
I heard she got married and retired. Is that true???... if it is, then what an AWFUL mistake. I don´t care what people say about it. Leave everything for a person will make the other miss what they were supposed to to. I hope she really misses... although it is too late.

However, there is something to be said for the obvious kindred spirit, friendship which shows thru when Pava performs with Finni.
