The 'mechanical humming' your hearing is actual the yaw system. 4 motors on slew ring, that is directed by an anemometer at the top of the 'nacelle.' The 'ano' registers wind speed and direction so the turbine can adjust its position to receive the best wind. This turbines specific yaw system needs to have the brakes re-balanced. Believe me, I build them.
