Actually Mr Jones (Marty Jones) is a good friend of Adam Duritz (Lead singer) they used to play in a band together before Adam became the lead singer of Counting Crows.

Mr Jones (Marty Jones) was in LA (By memory) to see his father play in a troupe, They saw a couple of good looking girls and wanted to talk to them but they were to shy, so Adam when he got home at some point of that night/morning he wrote this song....
