How do you get diabetes?

sometimes it's hereditary, others it's because of a virus. sometimes it's both. I was the first one in my family to have diabetes and that was because of an illness, then about 12 years ago my cousin got it because of a completely different illness. it's not contagious, and it can affect the healthiest of people.

well for type 1 it just kills ur pancreas and u have no control over it.

type 2 is mostly over weight problems

Way to go B.C....That is totally cool and great to see the folks up to the north doing something decent about kids who are type one ! As a 35 year old Southern California resident who had a long wait and alot of paperwork to get through to get a pump...type one kids come first. Pumps for them all in the U.S.. Anything less is unacceptable !

I'm really glad there doing this, i'm 14 i've had dibatetes for a year now, we've been trying to get a pump for 6 months but the insurance company "lost" my A1C results so i had to get another one, now i get to see my doctor tommorow because of this to hopefully get a pump.
