There is nothing sell-out about DK. You weren't there in 1981 when they stood up against Neo-Nazis, when it threatened to take over the scene. They weren't very popular with a lot of people, but they gave a voice with the song: "Nazi Punks Fuck Off" and the tape of the album came with a Nazi Punks Fuck Off arm band too. From the day they changed their name to Dead Kennedys, till Jello's final fight with D.A. Ira Reiner, DK has done everything possible to be anti-establishment and non-commercial.
