hi buddy thanks for your blog it really helped me a lot . Without my knowledge i installed 2 antivirus software in my mobile . my N8 started but after 1-2mins it hanged up so i tried this method and my problem was solved .. thanks for your help

When do you have to do this? Mine has begun to freeze sometimes, and then I can turn it on after 30 min. Will this help?

The hard reset which clears the memory by holding the three keys while pressing the power button, then release power and continue holding three buttons can erase all memory. I did this yesterday & release as soon as I saw the nokia logo C was wiped and E was left untouched.

I don't know if this is normal because As I read all internal memory should be wiped. Luckily this happened I managed to save some files I needed after C a continuous white screen at boot.

THIS IS SOFT RESET. ANY NOKIA SYMBIAN USE THAT CODE.. 7370.. HARD RESET IS DIFFRENT.. Turn off your phone AND Hold “Volume Down + Camera Key + Menu Key” and press power button

ATTENTION!!! i really need somebody's help... i have typed in this code in to my dial pad but the phone keeps asking me for a Lock code. i dont have ANY lock codes on my phone. i did previously but that was disabled. i tried using this code but then a prompt appears saying : CODE ERROR. what do i do??? the stupid nokia phone man keeps telling me to enter my code BUT ITS NOT WORKING.

@monkeylove2102 12345 is the default code from the nokia .... but if you bought a second hand phone/used phone..you should ask the previous owner of the cell phone to tell you the code

Hey all

1st thing before Hard or full reset of Nokia N8 . Please make sure ur Battery is full!!

2nd backup ur message , contacts, picture songs , videos (of camera also), every thing from Phone mem (16 gb)

3rd it is good to remove mem card before format the phone

This is SOFT RESET...

Hard Reset is different...

Follow these steps for HARD RESET:

1) Turn off your phone

2) Hold “Volume Down + Camera Key + Menu Key” and press power button until your phone vibrates.

3) Wait until screen show properly.

4) Done.

@cyclops621 Does that work with 5800 or other devices? I tried but it just starts the phone, my problem is that the touch screen doesn't response to touch but buttons work. I don't think that that the reset thing even resets every single data code from the phone

@isokessu Hard reset only works if you had previously updated the phone to v20. Sorry buddy but dont know much about 5800XM.

This is a SOFT RESET and It is different of a Hard Reset.
