  • i want i to see a northstar powered carmin gia

  • Why would you do that? That car was vintage, They dont make classic cars like this anymore. I just hate to se this happen to a car with so much more...

  • @PoppopUNC It was far from vintage. I saved it from being made a front wheel drive!!! Worse for you yet; I have plans to make it a tunnel ram, 302ci, 4 speed, gasser!!! I'll leave the vintage color though... It's called Bitter Sweet.

  • I'll have to say that the cadillac engine is a good motor, but it just not the same. You have to used a chevy v/8 in that car.

  • Cool Car!!!!! Love what you have done with it. My parents had a 52 Chevy back in the 70s when I was a kid. It was all original but me and my mom was in an accidence in it when I was in kendagarden in 73 when it was totaled. Wish I had that car now

  • how much power did it make ?

  • The converter was slipping to 5500 rpms. It's got about 270 to the ground after many revisions... It's run just over 155 mph all out and it had gotten over 26 mpg without a milage tune. With a milage tune I expect more than 30 mpg. The car should run low 13's in the 1/4 too.

  • That's a Chevy motor not ford. Ford SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's a Cadillac engine.

  • @lobelifter It's a GM engine, which makes it a cadillac and s chevy engine lol

  • got to love them FARM CARS. lol you know i love you. Ricky Rabbit Racing

  • WOW That sounds good! :)

  • 283 Is a mightly fine engine. Low on power compared to other larger dis. but nothing sounds better than hearing one scream to 6k.

  • A friend spins a 283 to 10,500! His converter is 8,200 stall. The package is in a '67 Nova that runs in super stock NHRA and turns 9.96 et's... The Cadillac North Star is far superior to the old 283 for cruising. There's no real comparison. It burns rubber from a 15mph roll and idles as smooth as glass. When it spins to 6600 it sounds like a good drag engine too.

  • yeah, I know what you are saying. i just perasonally love the old school sound. i have a 65 pontiac 389 with glass pacs.. i guess i just like old stuff lol, easy to fix, cheap to work on.

  • the 283's sound better.. nothing beats the sound of a carburated engine

  • I would agree with you but it's like apples and oranges, they're both good. However, I do like the sound of air being sucked through a Holley double pumper by any engine... Not to be disrespectful but it's like pretty girls; blonde, brunette, redhead... EFI sounds good too. The worst spagetti I ever ate was wonderful!
