This is definitely Not the best way to curl your hair

it's really hard on your ends that get split easiest

and on top of that you are putting them at the end

which is hottest!

I suggest learning the other way to curl.

Yes, you can. Your hair just isn't as protected from the heat. I don't have any heat defense, and I don't curl my hair often. But I've been looking into some anyways, because I want to keep my hair as nice as possible! So, yes, not a HAVE TO, it's a choice whether you want to or not.

What would you consider a good heat temp. setting? Hot Tools can go above 340.
