I always found it more fun to play with the persuadatron in this game and create an army. Persuade a few people and you can persuade cops, persuade a lot of people and you can start persuading enemy agents. Persuaded people will pick up weapons and will fire them at your target meaning that you can create an army. They are quite fragile though so fire fights will tend to thin the herd a bit.

A new game is out now and it actually looks good. This reminds me of GTA2. I probably would have played if I heard of it back then. But yes.. definitely the same game - Skrillex remake this song for the perfect graphics version.

(especially UFO: ET Gold, which is the only version I've played) The whole time I was playing UFO: ET Gold, it just felt so much like a new X-COM. I still need to finish a game of it, though. I also eagerly await the upcoming UFO2ET: Shadows over Earth.

@deatheven13 Syndicate 2012 version will be a linear action game with focus on story. I had hoped they would use the same formula as the original: Big city: Locate your enemy by car or walk / rooftops. But only this time more complex: How will u enter a building? Blast your way through? Use a more stealthier approach? 2012 version allso looks to bright and flashy. What happened to the dark gritty future?

this game was my favorite...it should be remade, with a similar isometric view, living city like GTA, and a whole host of ways of getting your target i remember there was one mission where an assassination target was being transported by a military convoy, the joy of seeing them go over your mines only to be mowed down by your drugged up agents, then the quick getaway:) what an epic game

x-com enemies are smarter, but turn-based ai is easier to program. this game made me appreciate games that focus more on the missions and less on resource management. x-com bases felt a bit tedious to manage... made me feel like playing an RTS.
