little advice use a jazz bass. its much better for that stuff. But hey it doesnt matter what equipment you use in the long run. I had a friend who is a spoiled brat and when he first wanted guitar lessons his dad went out and bought a marshall 120 watt amp that is half his hieght which was like 600$ a les paul studio Which was 1200$ i think and a cry baby wah a chourus and flanger pedal which was around 400$. He plays guitar like crap though and he doesnt practice.he cant even do a power chord
