the dads answer was steak and then he added in potatoes after he already said his answer, he said "you gotta have steak and potatoes" and he got a strike and so therefore jeff couldnt use french fries because he is on the same team but the other team is aloud to use it so it wasnt cheating its just how the game works

If a player says something after saying his answer it is invalidated for that family. This is to prevent one member from effectively shouting out other answers to help the team. By saying Potatoes after his Steak answer, Ron invalidated it for his family. Since FRENCH FRIES was tied to POTATOES that is why the Kreuger's couldn't use it, but the other family could.

The fact that the dad threw in "and potatoes"at the end of his answer made it seem like he was giving a hint to another team mate. That means that it can no longer be used by the team otherwise it would look like they cheated by sharing answers. Learn family feud before pinning the blame.
I'm sure that a lot of discussion went on concerning this that, obviously, got cut out. They want the show to continue to flow smoothly with both families acting very gleeful. Remember, it may take over an hour or two to get the right footage for one 22 minute show. I'm sure the Krueger family protested that answer immediately afterward and some kind of concession was made.

@evernet .......I've wondered about that before too. & since the population of the coulntry is 14% black, it puzzles me how 50% of the families on Family Feud are black. 90% of the time u have a black family vs a white family, with an occasional Hispanic or Asian family thrown into the mix!!

I remember seeing this episode as well...I'm surprised that the Kreugers weren't showing any signs of being upset. I sure would be. Game shows need to be fair in this kind of situation and if need be, bring the Kreugers back for a re-match.
