@BlackCrowNavajo I agree, nobody could have played Ray better but the bit that ruins the illusion for me is how mucular Jamie was, Ray was never that muscular, looks more like a football players physique than a blind musicians. Jamie not losing a bit of weight for this movie would be like Will Smith doing a great performance as Ali but not physically looking the part.

@Sobanski87 perhaps you're right. but this is a minor mishap that director and casting manager can be easily forgiven for. after all, the emphasis is really not on physical complection, is it? besides, a blind man is not necessarily weak, and quite possibly Ray was in a quite a good shape at his youth.

@BlackCrowNavajo I agree that a blind man is not necessarily weak I am aware of quite a few blind bodybuilders and the emphasis is not on physical complection but taking into account the film is so well produced in others aspects for someone who is a fan of Ray I wish Jamie would have slimmed down a little, perhaps I am a little too critical in this sense but given how much actors are paid and seeing guys such as Christian Bale work so hard on physicality I hope in the future this won't happen.
