  • Beat Takeshi is GOD

  • This is me, giving a fuck.

  • This man is better than Chuck Norris.

  • Takeshi is the Best!!!Superrrrrrrrrr!!!Bravooooooooo!!!!!!!!

  • @Timebubbles Beautifully said

  • @TodayFreedom lol you don't even need to go to a police station to get a person's IP adress. There are plenty of websites that will not only give you the person's ip adress but also any other personal information that is available (adress, telephone number, dob and workplace to name a few)

  • @Timebubbles I guess I'd find your racism annoying but for the fact that you're actually from exactly the same background as I am (most Brits are 1/3 Celt) and for the fact that we run the world's most powerful nation - the US of A, my dear. As for "bog trotters" - when my ancestors were writing Brehon Law and creating the Book of Kells yours were living in mudhuts and swinging from the trees. Look at your comment - you can't even write your own language!! Know what a plural is?? Ignoramus.

  • @Timebubbles Maybe bother to read more before making silly comments - where do you think "English" clog dancing has its origins? Where do you think tap dance has its origins? All north American folk dance of the "tap" variety is a combination of black African and Irish folk dancing. "English" clog dancing, like "English" folk music is neither English nor original. But thanks for the innacurate condescension.

  • siempre y toda la vida seras mi mejor artista beat.

  • So weird to think this whole craze started in Ireland and now folk tap dance is found from New York to Alabama to London to Tokyo!

  • Great Kitano!!!!!!

  • Cheers Pashken thanks for the info mate much appreciated ,a very talented man indeed,it also reaffirms my initial impression of him as being a man of good intention and nature, from watching Zatoichi" just a chance encounter with SBS tv the other night ,we wondered why we never knew of it before.

  • It is just no wonder that Mr. KITANO is that good at tap dancing if you take a time to read his biography. As a youth, he was working as an "elevator operator" at a vaudeville and he took a great courage, one day, to talk to a veteran comedian to ask to become his apprentice. The comedian glanced at KITANO and asked if he could do any performance like tap dance, demonstrating it wonderfully before exiting the elevator. This is said to be when KITANO decided to pick it up.

  • Rushing the beat just a tad but for not being a professional, very very very well done.

  • Is there anything this man can't do?

  • @UnyieldingDefiance Yes, he cannot be Justib bieber

  • @UnyieldingDefiance I second that.

  • @UnyieldingDefiance the only thing that takeshi cannot do is stop being famous

    he is too awesome

  • @MssBecca Didnt expect this from him.

  • Zatoichi, the blind swordsman???

  • good ! but, his rhythm is not a tap dance but Irish dance.

  • this is utterly charming! I feel charmed!! :)

  • A fockin genius...

  • This man was in Zatoichi. He's awesome.

  • While Astaire was certainly an excellent performer, African-American dancer John Bubbles was the father of modern tap dance.

  • Takeshi Kitano... He could find himself in any profession.

  • "Beat" Takeshi Kitano is the best. In ZATOICHI he had blond hair. In HANA-BI he was the policeman Nishi and he was the brutal teacher in BATTLE ROYALE and the yakuza killer Yamamoto in Brother. I also know him from TAKESHI`S CASTLE! This man is a genius!

  • @mc77ification Don't forget the fact that he's a magnificent director

  • Fantastican umetnik! :-)

  • Wow, is there anything he can't do?

  • Takeshi Kitano is a true artist.

  • I LOVE this man! Beat Takeshi is truly one of my heroes and always will be! Lottsa of respect from a fan!

  • Now that's entertainment!

  • Fred Astaire was a father of Tap dance, Gene Kelly made tap dance famous, Kitano Takeshi is a masterpiece of tap dance.

  • While Fred Astaire was a great performer, African American dancer John Bubbles of the dance pair "Buck and Bubbles" was the father of modern tap. He was the first to add heel taps on the off-beat in addition to taps performed using the toes.

  • Takeshi Kitanos many interests skills and talents shows us what human genius can achieve if there is a will and dedication to do it right! Love him, great role model for us all!

  • kitano thanks for your beautiful work.

  • omfg!!!

  • Pretty hefty praise throughout this thread. . . The tap dancing is just fine. He's no professional dancer or anything, but it is pretty impressive that someone develops a skill late-in-life.

  • @chipperprime I gotta agree, he's no picasso at tapdance, but he isn't bad either. Good for him.

  • è proprio il mejio

  • Q: Surreal? A: Yes!

To say this man is multi-faceted would be putting it mildly: He's uncomparable.

  • he must be illuminati... hahahahaha

  • The music is from an italian song "Pregherò" by Celentano

    youtube.com/watch?v=neid3-6gHCE

  • @Kazanian2 The music is from "Stand by me". "Pregherò" is the italian version of that song.

  • takeshi is god!!! xDDDDDD

  • And the music is Canon D? Pachelbel?

    ~

Kitano! You're the one man! :)

Greetings and love from Turkey! :)

  • GOD, IS MY GOD (L)

  • BEAT!! I never knew you so talented in so many things!

  • God bless Takeshi Kitano, I love him, he is a maestro.

  • Valholm is right. I love Takeshi's films and acting but his rhythmic timing on this is just awful.

  • Doesn't really sound good. He is a brilliant film maker and actor, but this sounds like popcorn. To be fair, it was just a bit off, but still off. I was trying to love this, but could not follow the story.

  • @Valholm if this wasn't Kitano I would turn it off in 30 sec and say "whatever".

  • i can do that...

    no, not really

  • his very old man now. well, not so in this vid but in recent interviews.

  • Takeshi Kitano: almost chuck norris

  • Stand by me!

  • wat a man

  • It's song of Adriano Celentano :) It was nice! I like him

  • Comment removed

  • Pura vida!!!!

  • @Viggobrun i agree........ i hope :-)))))

  • I was wondering if he could actually tap dance, since it's featured in his films Kikujiro and Takeshis'

  • @AnarchoRich Oh, and I forgot the tap dancing scene in Zatoichi...

  • Kitano is great!!

  • not beat takeshi, its offbeat takeshi^^.....but hes a genius in other things

  • Kitano-san, quit beat-ing around the bush and just take over the world already

  • i was just listening to stand by me.... this is blowing my mind

  • There's no end to Beat's talent.

  • >Yofure0033

No, nobody brought tap dance into Japan during the Edo period...

it might be brought here around 1931.

He put tap dance scene in the ending firstly firstly because he wanted to have an unconventional Samurai movie ending.

He chose tap dance as the one because he had learned tap dance for a long time and was familiar with it...

I also want to add more infor about the film relating to tap dance.

he edited this film with the rhythm of tap dancing.

  • @sho0809

Alright ! Thank you for these informations ! :)

  • Awesome !

Did the Japanese already danced tapdance during the Edo period as in Takeshi Kitano's Zatoichi or did he made his last scene with it because he likes this dance ?

    Thank you !

  • I believe he was 60 when he did this two years ago, well done Takeshi!

  • why?

  • c'est magnifique

  • oh dear... that is soooooooo awesome

  • Actor, writer, director, producer, artist, musician, comedian, and now tap dancer. Damn you Beat Takeshi, you have too many talents. Give me one of those talents and I'll be happy. Not a great dancer but not bad considering he's supposed to be paralyzed on one side of his body.

  • wait, nobody knows "stand by me"? com'on it's one of the most famous songs in the world.

  • @millefolie not that i dont know, but yes, its just i forgot and didnt realize that i already had john lennon's version in my pc

  • He's too talented. There's just nothing he can't do.

  • i like him!

    its Kikujiro's son!

btw, i like the song that plays with him in this video, the BGM.

is there any of this video without the kitano's tap dance?

  • or maybe anyone know what the song called?

  • @renzyrenzyrenzy That song was an orchestral version of Stand by Me.

  • Cet homme est tres fort!!!!

  • Takeshi Kitano=Beat Takeshi is the most famous Talented Hero in Japan.

  • He is simply talented...

  • He's a painter, pianist, director, screen-writer, actor, published author, comedian AND a tap dancer! This man is the fucking renaissance!

  • Takeshi Kitano is a bad ass, and no this is not sarcasim. I truly mean that, His movies are kewl and Zatoichi was great!

    M-I-T-O!

  • Is there anything on this earth this man cannot do? Kitano is genius.

  • @easterncinema teach Madonna to act?

  • @easterncinema So far, I've read his books, watched his films, viewed his TV programs, loved his film performances, listened to his music, witnessed his comedy, and marveled as his paintings. So, no.

  • Maybe hes a little too old for this... He lost the tempo so many times... Although I couldn't even think of doing that xD

  • Takeshi the great, well done man!!

  • Grande Vito Takeshi!!!

  • No

    Definitly not

  • stand by me + tapdance

  • !!

    That man is a genious!

  • Ahh Beat Takeshi and his tapdancing... Reminds me of Zatoichi with the completely absurd shots of tapdancing farmers - and then the tap-dance finale. Still, the man's a genius.

  • OMG. ITS A TAP DANCE.

PLUS MY FAVORITE SONG IS PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND.
