You've got the cart before the horse comrade. The SLP was formed in 1996 after discussion with all socialist groups and organisations. Your party was represented and refused to get involved because they wanted the new party to be an amalgam of factions. You wanted your cake and eat it too. Those of us joining up left our baggage at the door.
Look at the evidence since that time - the collapse of that type of federal organisation, Socialist Alliance, SSP, Respect.
But my concerns are that I've never seen or heard of any SLP campaigns, although we're only a little party, we have stalls in as many locations as possible. Also I'm not sure I believe in an omnipotent leader, even if that leader is Scagill. But as long as we're fighting for the same thing and don't like the SWP, I don't see why we can't support each other. It is a silly situation.
Exactly. I saw Tony Benn make a very interesting point about how pretty much all the socialist parties are exposing their greed because if they truly stood for socialism then they would all unite as they are supposed to be fighting for the same thing.
