Thanks for the video. I'm going to do everything you've said except I'm not going to install CC cleaner. I just want to keep the Power Virus at bay long enough to back up my files and then I'm going to format my hard drive and re-install windows. You can't let your guard down for even a minute these days...
i went onto runescape wikipedia, and the website changed to, wen u open my computer, it has all the cd drive, and my documents n stuff
so it changed to that, and it says infected with virus, and the wesite on the url, was something to do with powerantivirus, i didnt kno wot to do, i jus xed the window, and started my anti virus scan, im it is still scanin
so power antivirus gives u false result, but does it actually infect ur computer with virus?
if you have CCleaner, or any other temp files cleaner, use it. Then disable system restore, boot your computer in safe mode and use the antivirus program on your computer to do a full scan.
the virus is all gone cos i bought stopzilla and stuff, but i still can't go to websites without manually entering urls directly into my toolbar, everytime i click a site it tabs another page and opens advertisments
hey here is a better way uninstall the virus so its not in you files(even tho it realy is) so all you get is the little red thing go to ctrl alt delete delete your explorer dot exe dont freak out your background will be removd then go to file in the task maneger and start new task then put explorer dot exe
Thank you for this vid! It helped immensely. I still get an occasional popup, and I don't know how to delete the (unchecked) item from the startup list. I don't like having it in that list, even un checked. Anyone know how to remove it?
In my opinion all antivirus programs are on equal footing. The single most important thing that keeps you safe online is not the antivirus but your browsing habit. Here are some safety pointere
1) Use firefox browser instead of internet explorer
2) Use mywot, NoScript and AdBlock plugins
3) Run the temp files cleaner called CCleaner at the end of each browsing session
4) Create a limited user account (the one without administrative privilages) and use this account while surfing the web
THANKS a lot man you really did the trick now I am kind of sure that it is tooken out but it still helped you should do more videos so people like me finds more help on this stuff keep doing what you doing

you need to run an antispyware like Spybot S&D or Windows Defender from Microsoft (both are free)

you can mail me if you need to know anything. In this case your problem could be solved if you run the free version of Malwarebytes Antimalware

use ccleaner for that. You have to download the software separately. Open it and then click on Tools > startup
select the entry
and Delete

Done. Thank you! I would sure love to know what you recommend for protection - Norton, or McAfee or something else?
Again, thank you for the video.
