Fedor was face down, unconscious and took unanswered shots to the head. Herb seen that Fedor wasn't moving and went in to stop the fight. When he steps in to stop Hendo, Fedor begins to turn over. When a fighter is face down and taking untested shots, a ref is going to stop the fight. Herb decided to stop the fight when he saw Fedor not moving. He can't see the future.. he's not able to predict how long a fighter is going to be unconscious for.

People only get knocked out for two days in action films. In reality getting knocked out will last seconds. The ref is supposed to stop a fight when a fighter goes limp. Sometimes they go stiff, but mostly they go limp. Limp means out to disney land. If you go limp twice within secounds, you are probably not going home tonight. You are either going to the hospital for overnight examination or the morgue. Good stoppage.

I was back in college when Pride was founded and I used to like Fedor, coz at that time he wasn't overrated. Anderson Silva started competing in MMA 3 years before Fedor, had a bad start, but continues to improve his craft. I don't hate Fedor. It's just that he's... well overrated.
@stringskippa Yeah UFC started i 1993, and they had a few yearly events led by Royce Gracie, but do low demands, and the government on their throat, the sport couldn't pick up.. Pridefc started i think around the late 90's and it became popular in early 2000 with the introduction of guys like Noguiera, Shogun, Rampage Jackson, Fedor, Hendo, Wanderlei Silva, Alistair Overeem, and others. so yeah UFC did start the sport, but Pridefc was the 1st major mma organization!

Randy is old, but Fedor is much too young to be out of his prime.

I watched him fight Andrie and he was being beaten up but smartly capitalized on Andrie's mistake. When he faught Bret ROGERS , Bret was beating him up and Bret is just a dam amature! So when Big Foot and the other Brazilian guy beat him I was not surprised.

imo hendo hurt fedor at 4:56 of the first round and he never fully recoved with the faced pace!!! but man, hendo has the best cage awareness ive seen in a long time... he was rocked abit tho... Fedor was face down, unconscious and took unanswered shots to the head. Herb seen that Fedor wasn't moving and went in to stop the fight. When he steps in to stop Hendo, Fedor begins to turn over. When a fighter is face down and taking untested shots, a ref is going to stop the fight. Herb decided to stop the fight when he saw Fedor not moving. He can't see the future.. he's not able to predict how long a fighter is going to be unconscious for.

I"m not upset that Fedor lost, i'm upset Herb Dean screwed up a good fight that could've been continued... I think these mma referees, are too little too cautious when it comes to safety.. It's a fucken fight,, it's suppose to be dangerous.. And for a fight this big, a ref needs to learn to let go, and let fights continue for us fans.. Bad call!

Look at hendo's face.. YOu can't tell me Fedor didn't hurt him.. And he rocked Hendo to the ground.. Hendo only got 3 shots at Fedor toward the end, and Fedor immediately turned around.. He was stunned for a moment,but he wasnt' rocked.. PPL don't seem to know the difference.. I can show u a about 100 clips of fighters actually getting rocked that still had their fights continued.. And this was just a stun.. A horrible call by Herb Dean,, This is Fedor for goodness sakes, he deserves more time!

People only get knocked out for two days in action films. In reality getting knocked out will last seconds. The ref is supposed to stop a fight when a fighter goes limp. Sometimes they go stiff, but mostly they go limp. Limp means out to disney land. If you go limp twice within secounds, you are probably not going home tonight. You are either going to the hospital for overnight examination or the morgue. Good stoppage.

@stockmaster1982 - As far as I remember, UFC was founded way before Pride. And the Japs were the ones who copied from UFC when they put up circus Pride. I was back in college when Pride was founded and I used to like Fedor, coz at that time he wasn't overrated. Anderson Silva started competing in MMA 3 years before Fedor, had a bad start, but continues to improve his craft. I don't hate Fedor. It's just that he's... well overrated.

@stringskippa Yeah UFC started i 1993, and they had a few yearly events led by Royce Gracie, but do low demands, and the government on their throat, the sport couldn't pick up.. Pridefc started i think around the late 90's and it became popular in early 2000 with the introduction of guys like Noguiera, Shogun, Rampage Jackson, Fedor, Hendo, Wanderlei Silva, Alistair Overeem, and others. so yeah UFC did start the sport, but Pridefc was the 1st major mma organization!

@stockmaster1982 - I always viewed the UFC as the original MMA organization. Pride was more of like a Pepsi. UFC competition now is way way ahead of the level of competition Pride ever had. Plus, the UFC HW's that Fedor knocked out are actually UFC rejects. Crocop and Nog are not the best opponents and they're not that old. Randy is old, but Fedor is much too young to be out of his prime.

@stringskippa It's not that Fedor is a bad fighter, and clearly every fight he lost was due to referee stoppage except the Werdum fight which was submission. back in the days, Fedor always found a way to win, no matter how much the odds were stacked against him,he found a way to pull out a submission, knock out fighters, or ground and pound towards a decision. I haven't seen this from Fedor since the Brett Rogers fight! Do i thnk he's stil lthe best? NO! But i dont think he's overrated either!

He will not pass to today's standard and he's not that old. When RCouture started competing in 1997, he was the same age as Fedor is right now. And Anderson Silva being older than Fedor is still dominating in the UFC. I'm so tired of these Pride fans claiming to be the original MMA fans. They think they know it all.

@stringskippa The Pridefc fans, were the fans, that first reallly got into the sport and as a result has been following the sport a lot longer. The UFC only became popular in 2003, so the fans of that sport, were typically "products of Tuf REalitys who", or WWE graduates that liked Brock Lesnar, decided mma ws hot shit, and decided to watch.. Clearly you belong to the second group... As for the original UFC 1 in 1993, very few actually watched mma at the time, and back than it was a freakshow!
