  • very well done, i am a film maker/video producer my self. what was your total budget cost on this i say up in the $10,000

  • the guy who got stabbed was a rly good actor

  • i can see why it won an award, very VERY poignant short film, fantastic acting from all involved too!

  • in the end the security guard left his fingerprint on the knife...

  • Very impressed. I am currently making a short film that I hope will get into film festivals. I have made a previous short called The Nuclear Family which I think was nearly festival worthy. Could you give me any tips please on which festivals to enter and how, and just anything you learnt from making this and submitting it. james.ryan3@yahoo.co.uk. It would be hugely appreciated! Thank you, keep up the good work.

  • Please could you consider making a longer version. maybe the main charectors lives before and then alongside before they collide as the robbery goes wrong. It was brilliant, I really enjoyed it.

  • i wish this wasnt a short film i wish it could b an actual movie i didnt want it 2 end this is a heart wrenching gripping film excellent job guys. loved it!!!!!

  • i loved the video but did you notice that the boom mic was in the shot around 9:21?

  • nothing special

  • awesome this film made tears fell down my cheeks .

  • It Was quite cool but have you never heard of a clap board? For a 10 minute film I would at least expect the sound to be dubbed properly, especially in a film that is as much about the characters as the film work.

  • Well just over :P

  • Incredible. It's amazing how much emotion you can pack into less than 10 minutes.

  • BRAVO!

  • excellent

  • that was actually really good

  • I loved the ending. The build up, i really did'nt care about, but the end was perfect.

  • up the ra

  • hey mate, i usually don't like any of the short films on youtube at all. they all seem very cliche' or uninspired or made as a novelty. this one truly shines above all that i have seen thus far, the acting i very good, the shots were well done, and even the lighting in the main ending scene casts a spell. The emotion that was stirring, the end was a definitive a pay off.

    So good job, well done.

  • @unknownwizdom cheers.

  • Is that the same car driving by twice at the intro?

  • Awwww. This is beautiful.

  • excellent short.

  • Keep up the good work, nice camera work and acting...I may be slow but perhaps if you would have used a dissolve when the guard recalls his own mistake in the military it would have clicked for me sooner.

  • @CharlesHenrySanson Thanks for the feedback Charles.

  • this film is fucking awsome! im subing

  • @killenair95 cheers

  • damn gud!!! liked it

  • I have more taste in my penis

  • I think this is an awesome short film. I like the use of black and white with the two main characters. I also like how you use flashbacks to show the security guards past and the dialogue is very well done.

  • Very impressive, thank you for do it.

  • Man...this gave me chills. Amazing video, really well done. Loved the backstory on the characters, and how you alluded to the IRA through the writing on the wall during the security guard's flashback. Brilliant setting and tone of the film too, really helped convey the emotions across. Nice dialogue too, my favorite is definitely the security guard saying 'they always do'. All in all, probably one of the best films I've ever seen on youtube. Congratulations, hope to see more soon :)

  • @ST7CKMAN cheers. and yep we've got a lot more to come....

  • very impressive :), how did you get the actors?, but overall very gripping at extremly well made :)

  • This was an awesome film haha. I also made a short film. Just recent, shot a short film called "Lemons & Lemonade" starring Connor Stanhope, child actor who played Lex Luthor on Smallville. Check it out if you got time! >.>

  • ***SPOILER ALERT***

If anyone is confused let me clear it up...

The security guard was blamed for his fellow soilders death because he was distracted by the girl that the IRA used as "bait." He went into the army trying to make a difference, and when he heard the story about how the stabbed guy was trying to make life better for his little brother by getting money from the robbery he realized they werent so different. He learned about the problems of the boys and gave one, a 2nd chance.

  • everything is very good. but can somebody explain this, im cant seems to understand what you guys are saying because of the accent (sorry it's just me). i really want to understand the film

  • Bravo, I love making short films. This will be an inspiration to my next.

  • loved it. struggle scene was a little hard to believe, if you know what I mean.

  • Brilliant! I almost cried ;-)

  • Why they runaway 4x1 from a old guy and then one stabs his friend and still then returns to him ?

  • Absolutely brilliant, you're writing for the script is superfluous, and the setting of the film captures the emotion perfectly. You have an incredible amount of talent, I hope to see more short films from you in the near future. Best of luck, and keep it up. Here's to you, friend.

  • @InvisibleWall23 thanks.

  • good video..

  • well done. Good short film.

  • @taylorMFilms cheers

  • really good but i wish you have explained a bit more of their past you know

  • WOW.....i am speechless....this is a stunning film...i cried because of how beautiful it was. For the security guard to take the fall like that was amazing. Where do you start when you make a film like this? the writing obviously, but are you the director? or what was your role? brilliant work regardless!

  • @Machine101211 I directed it. Thanks. It all starts with a great script :-)

  • @steshining Well thats amazing! great work! if you dont mind me asking what was your guys budget for this film?

  • @Machine101211 it was a very small budget, everyone did it because of the script.

  • I actually cried. :( I didn't understand though what was happening when the soldiers went into the street? explain?

  • @PotentialxLove I'm glad you like it. Young Simon, the soldier that walked up to the woman in the street (Soldiers are trained not to stop so to make it harder for snipers to get a shot off) so in Simon's eyes he was at fault. Older Simon, security guard, puts his hand on the knife to take the blame for the stabbing, again in his eye's this might finally put to rest some of the guilt at he has carried since that faithful day.

  • Comment removed

  • @steshining nevermind. i didn't realize that the guy on the ground said "what's your name" .. i think that's what he said. -- then a flashback came to Simon, right?

  • @PotentialxLove yep. Glad you like it.

  • fantastic, truly beautifully done. i wish my videos could be of your quality

  • wow. thanks for sharing this,.

  • @jakeeBheybe cheers

  • This is really good I wasn't expecting much at first, until I saw the lighting in that corridor shot. One tiny wee gripe, there was no plant for the security guard. I was thrown off a bit when it switched to Ireland. Really well lit what camera did you use ? I'm about to start principle photography on my first short. I've got minimal experience so the day of shotting is gonna be nerve racking.

Anyways good stufff dude message me some more of your stuff if you want x

  • @rtleeson cheers dude. it was the Panasonic dvcpro hd and we had some super speed lenses.
