Could I grab your attention for 4 minutes, please? If you enjoyed this short film, I would like you to check out my short film as well. I am a young artist from London, and my short film 'Ashes' is available to be viewed on my channel. It is the first video that comes up.
Please view it and tell me what you think - I appreciate each comment, each view, each feedback.
Very impressed. I am currently making a short film that I hope will get into film festivals. I have made a previous short called The Nuclear Family which I think was nearly festival worthy. Could you give me any tips please on which festivals to enter and how, and just anything you learnt from making this and submitting it. james.ryan3@yahoo.co.uk. It would be hugely appreciated! Thank you, keep up the good work.
Please could you consider making a longer version. maybe the main charectors lives before and then alongside before they collide as the robbery goes wrong. It was brilliant, I really enjoyed it.
i wish this wasnt a short film i wish it could b an actual movie i didnt want it 2 end this is a heart wrenching gripping film excellent job guys. loved it!!!!!
If you are interested in short films and find this video interesting, take a look at my channel (Suppressed Productions) for a new way to look and analyze short films using influences David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock! My first video "Desires" is up now and A whole line of new videos on your way. see you there! :]
It Was quite cool but have you never heard of a clap board? For a 10 minute film I would at least expect the sound to be dubbed properly, especially in a film that is as much about the characters as the film work.
hey mate, i usually don't like any of the short films on youtube at all. they all seem very cliche' or uninspired or made as a novelty. this one truly shines above all that i have seen thus far, the acting i very good, the shots were well done, and even the lighting in the main ending scene casts a spell. The emotion that was stirring, the end was a definitive a pay off.
Keep up the good work, nice camera work and acting...I may be slow but perhaps if you would have used a dissolve when the guard recalls his own mistake in the military it would have clicked for me sooner.
I can not understand what they said BC I a bit English but I understand what it's mean . I built my shortfilm in Thailand too but not big production seem this film .I hope i contact you to change experience together with my a bit English
I think this is an awesome short film. I like the use of black and white with the two main characters. I also like how you use flashbacks to show the security guards past and the dialogue is very well done.
Man...this gave me chills. Amazing video, really well done. Loved the backstory on the characters, and how you alluded to the IRA through the writing on the wall during the security guard's flashback. Brilliant setting and tone of the film too, really helped convey the emotions across. Nice dialogue too, my favorite is definitely the security guard saying 'they always do'. All in all, probably one of the best films I've ever seen on youtube. Congratulations, hope to see more soon :)
This was an awesome film haha. I also made a short film. Just recent, shot a short film called "Lemons & Lemonade" starring Connor Stanhope, child actor who played Lex Luthor on Smallville. Check it out if you got time! >.>
The security guard was blamed for his fellow soilders death because he was distracted by the girl that the IRA used as "bait." He went into the army trying to make a difference, and when he heard the story about how the stabbed guy was trying to make life better for his little brother by getting money from the robbery he realized they werent so different. He learned about the problems of the boys and gave one, a 2nd chance.
everything is very good. but can somebody explain this, im cant seems to understand what you guys are saying because of the accent (sorry it's just me). i really want to understand the film
Absolutely brilliant, you're writing for the script is superfluous, and the setting of the film captures the emotion perfectly. You have an incredible amount of talent, I hope to see more short films from you in the near future. Best of luck, and keep it up. Here's to you, friend.
WOW.....i am speechless....this is a stunning film...i cried because of how beautiful it was. For the security guard to take the fall like that was amazing. Where do you start when you make a film like this? the writing obviously, but are you the director? or what was your role? brilliant work regardless!
@PotentialxLove I'm glad you like it. Young Simon, the soldier that walked up to the woman in the street (Soldiers are trained not to stop so to make it harder for snipers to get a shot off) so in Simon's eyes he was at fault. Older Simon, security guard, puts his hand on the knife to take the blame for the stabbing, again in his eye's this might finally put to rest some of the guilt at he has carried since that faithful day.
@steshining nevermind. i didn't realize that the guy on the ground said "what's your name" .. i think that's what he said. -- then a flashback came to Simon, right?
This was a very good video. Great! honestly every single one of you were a great actor! become proffesional! :D it was great! im defintely sharing it with everyone i know!

The security guard was blamed for his fellow soilders death because he was distracted by the girl that the IRA used as "bait."
