  • Too. Freakin. Good. I call this an orgasm in my ear!!

  • Absolutely amazing! It is such a wonderful pleasure to listen and also to watch these great and empathic musicians in their passion for their instruments and the pieces they perform heartful and perfect. Please let me know your next tour to Germany. If it's possible, I'd like to engage the ensemble for a concert in Bonn in a very special, small and highly interested medieval location.

I love the videos here so much again and again.

  • Gorgeously played - thank you!

  • Tafelmusik = awesome. Just on a side note, which Vivaldi Concerto for Two Violins was this, It's such a great work.

  • i love the face she makes at :15 , shes so cute, its so cool to just make a unique facial expression when playing this grand and beautiful music, i like her hair cut, but i dont want to cut mine,

  • However, all this smiling, theatrical expressions and head-banging is extremely irritating, to say the least. How are we supposed to take them seriously when they are distracting us from the music? Despite how well they play, they should stop gawking like Lang Lang so we can actually concentrate on the music.

  • @witchcraftlord, BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • @witchcraftlord, if you knew anything about music, you would know that every ounce of attention and effort given to theatrical expressions and movements is one ounce of attention and effort that is taken away from making sure your playing sounds good. Head-bobbing sure makes it hard to balance the violin and the movements necessary to make it sound good. I suppose these players are good enough to pull it off, but I wonder how much better they would sound if they didn't do it.

    Fucker.

  • @witchcraftlord, idiot...I know you have to move in complex ways. I play piano and went to conservatory. I'm just saying that when you focus on your facial expressions, your attention is divided. I challenge you to focus on smiling and looking attractive while you play a difficult passage. It WILL make it about five times as difficult.

  • @KhagarBalugrak Hell, I even know people that play country fiddle music and step dance at the same time, and they smile the whole time, are you going to tell them stop moving around and dancing? are you going to tell them that their step dance takes ounces of effort away from their playing? they are not going to stop and they told me they do not get tired of playing concerts every year, when the music is fast and energitic, the players like to move around and dance and head bang!

  • @witchcraftlord, in order to pull that kind of thing off, you have to be well-practiced at that. Perhaps you can still play your best when you head-bang and all that; I cannot imagine many people can do it. Head-banging might be exciting for some to watch, but it always makes me wonder if they would play better if they weren't expending energy doing that. Clearly, these people play incredibly; they're one of the best Baroque groups. But said head-banging just always makes me a little worried

  • @KhagarBalugrak Sorry for sounding harsh, im not upset, I play piano mostly, I am starting out at violin and i would not recomend dancing and head banging while getting used to the instrument, the people in Tafelmusik and other baroque groups have been playing for a long time, and they are so good they can move around and make funny faces and smile, and nod their head and even close their eyes, when they play calm music they are more mellow and soft when they play

  • @witchcraftlord, yes, probably they can pull it off just fine. I don't hear any slip-ups in this performance at all. This is one of the best Tafelmusik productions I've seen. You should check out Vivaldi's Four Seasons with Julia Fischer. What an amazing performance.

I want to know what you think: does Vivaldi require wonderful interpretation to really shine? It seems to me he does. He can sound like a hack composer if played badly. But he's up there with Bach when played right.

  • @KhagarBalugrak WOW i cant believe you said that, i actually seen that extact video, its the acadamy of saint martin in the fields, Julia Fischer is really good, and she is sooo attractive, I think if the music sounds great to the listener, it would be that the interpretation and the performance was well done when it comes to the notes on the page, and the tunning, tempo, most important is the musicality, and adding variations , fills, improvising helps make it MUSIC,

  • This is great playing.

  • Just heavenly. Vivaldi is eternal and Tafelmusik does great justice to this music. Bravissima Jeanne Lamon.
