  • She has a powerful voice, this is my favourite song.

  • she was actually greek

  • Remember hearing this first on the original Eurovision, magnificient song and sung beautifully by Vicky but wow how the English version is so lyrically upbeat to the French. Quite amazing.

  • Ditto this song is an icon in South Africa, it carries you away to a place you can only wish to be

  • I was born, and raised, in South Africa; to a scottish mother and Estonian father, and now I reside in the USA - This is a delightful walk down memory lane... thank you...

  • Beautiful lady, lovely voice, and my favourite song of all time.

    Well done Vicky

  • I truly love this song - both French and English versions. She has a faubulous voice. It always makes me cry.

  • to my fiance kim buckley, the words say it all ! i love you. lots of love trev xxx

  • love love this song anglais or en francais

  • What a fantastic song but I had not realised that sung in French ( I have just listened to it ) the words are completely different ?

  • Shame it fades before the end

  • I think this a great song although I prefer apres toi which sharesthe same music but which I wouldn't consider to be the french version as the words are just too dissimilar. I think that Viki has a truly inspirational voice.

  • I LOVE YOU VICKY!!!!

  • that voice is sheer exellence best singer ever god bless you vicky my heart belong to you

  • The best love I have ever hear sung by a beautiful singer with amazing voice

  • katapliktiki...opws panta!!!

  • Vicky sang the English version live at the BBC pop proms in March 1976 which was televised from Bellevue Manchester region . She did it on a couple of other shows and on her own show on BBC . Can't swear they were all live but I think so as things were then in UK mostly . She was also on TOTP a couple of times - from memory it wasn't live - not when I saw it anyway - I think they played the recording - I remember her on TOTP in the beige dress with music notes on it - fans will know the one !!!

BUT THIS SONG DEFINITELY DESERVED TO BE THE WINNER (UNLIKE THE SONGS FROM THE EUROIVISION CONTEST OF TODAY - ONCE HEARD SO EASILY FORGOTTEN) ONLY RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT SHE REPRESENTED LUXEMBOURG IN 1967 (LOVE IS BLUE) ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL SONG)

  • Greek Heart and her amazing voice took it home for luxemburg without even any contest she was the best

  • a true love song carry on vicky

  • She is very alive and well. She made an appearance as a guest in a german talkshow on Friday 28-01-2011. She asked by the hosts of the show about Greek financial crisis (for 10000th time!!!), and she mentioned her decoration by the Grand Duke of Luxemburg for the double participation in Eurovision Song Contest in 1967 and 1972, and of course for her upcoming tour in Germany and Switzerland.

  • A fantastic song then, and now!

  • My top 5 Eurovision songs of all time are:

    1 L'amour est bleu Vicky

    2 Nocturne Secret Garden

    3 Apres Toi Vicky Leandros

    4 Waterloo Abba

5 All kinds of everything Dana

Incidentally, the two Vicky songs are the two best selling Eurovision songs worldwide of all time. A fantastic achievement!

  • One of the best songs ever to come out of Eurovision. What a contrast to the French version, which is full of despair - this version is full of hope and happiness.

  • @gusgorilla76

I totally agree with you on both counts.

  • My theme song for my first trip to Europe, knapsack on my back - so long ago in the 70's - and the line "from the moment I met you...." summed up that magical trip when I was only 18 years "now I know..l.."

"you're everything I long for and I long for you to stay." Come What May...

  • OMG thank you, I have always loved this song but there used not to be an English version :)

  • darling Bill - this is our song

  • vicky is best this song is simply stunning

  • My favourite Eurovision song.I was only 10 when it won and even at that age I thought it a great song.

    Wonderful stuff.Thanks.

  • This was a Euro song, remembered long after any recent winners. I remember the lyrics and the beautiful Vicky Leandros like yesterday Thank You.

  • memories, memories. eurovision when it was worth watching. I loved this song and even now after years, I can still remember the lyrics.

  • doesnt the title "apres tui" - translate as after you?

  • Yes, "Après toi" is French for "After you"

  • I hope someone will post Vicky doing this song live from the BBC, as I feel certain she's performed it live or singback after winning the ESC with this song. Rumour has it she performed on the Cliff Richard show with this song....?

  • not a bad idea for agreat song

  • Merci beaucoup beau travail, jolies photos.
