  • well done, this video was great dude :)

this is one of my favourite rh songs and remains ever prevalent, why? israel is doing a similar thing this very moment.

  • Dr. Strangelove!!

  • What was the first clip about, with the WBS?

  • Nice work! this vid has been the exact answer to what i was looking for, why a 4 minute warning? why put it as the title of the song ?

Now i know, thank you for the explanation...

    i love the song!

  • dr strangelove

  • until the 1:00 mark

  • friking scary

  • Great work, loved it. Thank you!!

  • guy at 1:46 = Maynard.

  • that was really good, nice one

  • these guys are fucking sickkkk

  • if i can not see the missile...it wint blow me to smitherines...how is going under a table and lying on the ground with a jaket over ur head going to help???

maby they hope that the bombers might mistaken them for some very strange rocks...

  • > how is going under a table and lying on the

    > ground with a jaket over ur head going to

    > help???

Depends on where you are in relation to the blast. Fireball only goes so far, but air pressure from the blast can shatter windows up to 100 miles away given the correct conditions.

So yes, "duck and cover" can save many, many lives. It was never meant for people sitting on the bull's-eye.

  • @DefconWarningSystem If you're not killed by the blast, you would most likely die from radiation anyhow.

  • @plasticreality01 Your concern was already addressed, actually in the very message you were replying to. Radiation, as previously mentioned, can be survivable both depending on how far you are away from the blast as well as what kind of protection you rig for yourself.

Many people will die needlessly because they didn't take the time to prepare an adequate fallout shelter.

  • @DefconWarningSystem Not to start an argument, but I don't see how my concern was addressed in the original post. You didn't mention radiation, but were talking about "duck and cover" drills as a way to save lives. Hiding under a desk won't protect you from radiation. That's all I was trying to say.

Aside from that, you'd have to be pretty far away from the blast not to be affected by radiation (depending on the payload). Most likely hundreds of miles.

  • @plasticreality01 Ah, my mistake. You're correct that the original only mentioned blast not radiation. I misread it. Can I blame the mistake on the cold that I got?

The radioactive fallout from a nuclear bomb does not live very long, being the high-energy creature that it is. Wind and weather determine where this fallout lands. The longer it takes to get to you, the better off you are.

Additionally, air bursts create very little fallout as opposed to ground bursts.

    Question answered or no?

  • @MegaPollen Protection from shrapnel, direct heat, etc. Distance and minimized profile increase chances of survival.

  • back when they had you believe that hiding under a table saves you from a nuclear bomb

  • Super, super, super písnička!

  • Duck and cover...like it's gonna help

  • is there anywhere that i can find the 4 minute wartime broadcast?

  • The announcer reading the four minute warning is the BBC's Peter Donaldson who can still be heard reading the news on BBC Radio 4

  • i'm a servicemember and i love radiohead.....i see both sides..................this songs for all my friends dying for a cause that they believe is right..........i know whats right...........i believe in PEACE!!!

  • great video...its funny we were just watching the "duck and cover" video in one of my classes today and so it was funny seeing clips of it on here... this song is sick i cant even imagine what would be going through someone's head with a "4 minute warning" and leave it to radiohead to blow me away yet again.

  • The title is based on the number of minutes Britain would have if nuclear war broke out.

It is because the us wanted to set a radar to warn if the Russians launched.

It was turned down as we got 4 minutes when they would have 15, as well as the project would have ruined the country side view.

  • Yeah, well done Vlad...

We did build "a radar to warn if the Russians launched" it's called RAF Fylingdales. It's part of the BMEWS system. Look it up.

  • I don't know why but I just love this song!!!!!

I try not to take it literally, metaphorically I think it can represents life's problems

  • This song is so "soul deep" it's hard to express it in words. Whether it's literal or metaphoric, the words hit pretty damn deep. Who can't identify with that surreal feeling of detachment when adversity has made it's appearance.

  • masterpiece

  • insanely chilling !!!!

    gasp i love radiohead.

  • awesome video!!

  • holy fuck.

  • holy "F" in a good way or a bad way?

  • well done!! images and music fit nicely. definite complements, the two.

  • notice the background vocals mimic a siren. f'ing brillant! i also love how you've ended this video with "all i need" (it's all wrong, it's all right)

  • I noticed that, it gave me the chills the first time I heard this song! Being a kid from the 1960's I can clearly remember these drills.

  • nice job! Thanks for your comment as well:-D
