you can tell by her voice inflection and the ups and downs of her tone, this is a live performance. even if she's singing over a backing tape, plenty of performers do this to make their voices stronger. madonna does it, gwen does it at times, etc. personally, i think she sounds terrific. i'm impressed. 2 bad she had that SNL fiasco. it seems like her career never rebounded after that. i dug that first album she had.
