My parents showed me Yellow Submarine when I was 10. It's what got me into the Beatles' music, and this is still one of my favorite songs.

When Yellow Submarine was first brought to network television, this scene was edited out. I don't know why. I think ABC had it.

@classicrockcafe I remember first watching Yellow Submarine on PBS ( then , UHF channel 26 , iirc ... ) back in '75 when I was 5 . I certainly remember not only this scene ( featuring my absolute favourite song by Harrison ! ) being played , but also that , to this day , Nowhere Man's part still blows my mind to this day !

This should have been on Sgt. Pepper instead of "Within You Without You." George would have still had his song on the record, it fits perfectly between "Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite" and "When I'm 64" and would have put Pepper in a class with Dark Side of the Moon. As it is, Pepper is a distant 2nd.

Personally, I think this is the most underrated Beatles song.

When I first saw this movie when I was like 10, that rotating block got stuck in my head, and I couldn't for the life of me recall where I saw it until I found YS on youtube in '07.

Also, your sound is off or something because I can't hear the glockspiel or second trumpet!

They really captured some magic when they recorded this(it was during Sgt Pepper era)...and I agree the glock and trumpets sound like they're turned down on the left. however that might just be the different mix. There are a few different ones of this song. With that being said I do prefer those trumpets be turned wayyy up!
