  • Sra Laura. What you all play is another viable solution. I mean to say that in most other completed versions the voicing is more continuous and it is also played in a different key, namely F concert. Anyway I invite you to take a look at my version for 2 clars, bassethorn and bass clar. which you can find on the cherryvalleymusic site. Just send me an e-mail address then I can mail you the version.

  • Beautiful, the French system bassethorns have a near German sound. The master of German clarinet playing Karl Leister plays the solo, Only, I wonder who completed the Durchfuehrung of the piece? There are some gaps in bars 39 and 40. The Flothuis, Meylan and Paumgartner completion keep the movement more continuous!

  • Thank you very much for the nice words of appreciation.

  • Very Good tone

  • Anyone know what make of basset horn they are using?

  • I am using a cocobolo Orsi Basset Horn with a Hammerschmidt mouthpiece(Luigi) and my sister is using a Selmer Basset Horn with a Wurlitzer mouthpiece

    Best wishes

    Luigi Magistrelli

  • Interesting, Boehm instruments with German mouthpieces... I guess it gives the horn a nice focus. The other way round, German bore with Boehm mouthpieces, works very well too on soprano clarinets...

  • oh Karl Leister, I wish I had your tone on a boehm system clarinet.
