Hi i am from nottingham in the uk and have a real interest in the fire department especially FDNY, i think all of the fire depts do a fantastic job and i love watching the videos, my dream is to one day take a ride in a FDNY truck, but can you explain one thing to me, what the hell are they doing in this vid lol or are they just having fun?

Not sure what happened. Does the author of this video have any idea ? The purpose of collecting the trash cans is have a heavy anchor point to affix caution tape to. By caution tape I mean the 'CAUTION - FIRE LINE - DO NOT CROSS stuff. So by them gathering trash cans up, something was up. And I agree about NYPD doing traffic, but sometimes you can't always wait around for them to make the party, right ? Startegic placing of apparatus can do wonders for traffic control. Later all
