I think most of our mindset comes from being sheltered(Most americans never leave the country more than once in their lifetimes, which stunts our cultural exposure) and constantly being bombarded with pro-American propoganda. Most of us realise it and disdain it wholeheartedly, but that kind of exposure still colours our views from an early age, sadly. :/

Don't worry, most young Americans aren't racist(Or at least not nearly as much as the older generations) but I think it will take dropping the whole "America is the best country" mindset for us to actually leave our borders and visit other countries for a few years before we really understand other cultures.

Damn that armadillo was expensive. I've been on vacation around guadalajara and they have no iguanas there. I never saw or heard of anyone eating the armadillos, though. I lived with a foster family trying to live as they did for a while. I know the bugs are eaten in really indigenous parts of Mexico.
