Teemu is one of the best snipers the nhl has ever had but, my estimation the rookie record still belongs to bossy. Teemu was 22 and three quarters old when he beat it. mike bossy was twenty and a half. a couple years of mauturity at the nhl level is an eternity.

I'm an Edmonton, and even I agree, Gary Betman, is a fucking prick. Hockey does not work in Florida, or in Phoenix, or in Tennessee, it works and is loved in Canada. Back in the early '90's I used to collect hockey stickers that were sold in those sticker mania vending machines. For a joke, I stuck a little Winnipeg Jets sticker on the window of a bowling alley bar right below the neon "Budweiser" sign. It remained there for years before it finally faded and was removed by some random custodian. :(
they moved away because the canadian dollar was much weaker at that time then now. well, moving the winnipeg jets to phoenix was a bad idea for reasons that people know. that's not a hockey town

No, that's not true. He was signed by the Indianapolis Racers of the WHA at the age of 17 & was traded to the Edontonton Oilers after playing only 8 games with Indy. Then the next year, Edmonton was one of 4 teams that merged into the NHL after the WHA folded. You could sign with a WHA team at age 17 whereas in the NHL, you must be 18 for a team to own your rights which is why Gretzky ended up in the WHA in his first pro season & wasn't drafted into the NHL. Just a little history for ya.

@wholefnshow1 I don't understand why Ovechkin would have anymore goals than he does now? The Goalie pads back in '92 - '93 were BIGGER than what they are allowed to have now. Regulation size now is 11". Back in this time it was 12" +. Look up a guy like "Arturs Irbe" to see what i'm talking about.

I love the Phoenix Coyotes, I really do, and they are my favourite team and no matter how badly they play I will always support them, but it would be amazing to see us back in Winnipeg! I would love it if a businessman would buy us and relocate back to Winnipeg, we would get way more fans, loads more revenue and the team would play lots better. Having said that, we are tenth in the league so far this year due to Ilya Bryzgalov. Hope we do Better!!!!

Too bad today's NHL goalies don't run to the top of the circles anymore. Trust me Ovechkin would break gretzkys records if goalies were still like this.

@wholefnshow1 I don't understand why Ovechkin would have anymore goals than he does now? The Goalie pads back in '92 - '93 were BIGGER than what they are allowed to have now. Regulation size now is 11". Back in this time it was 12" +. Look up a guy like "Arturs Irbe" to see what i'm talking about.

I love the Phoenix Coyotes, I really do, and they are my favourite team and no matter how badly they play I will always support them, but it would be amazing to see us back in Winnipeg! I would love it if a businessman would buy us and relocate back to Winnipeg, we would get way more fans, loads more revenue and the team would play lots better. Having said that, we are tenth in the league so far this year due to Ilya Bryzgalov. Hope we do Better!!!!

Teemu was very good in his prime.
He is OK nowadays but couple/few years back he was actually good, scoring almost 100point in season.

@Oldschoolhockey91 Definitely I have to agree. Phoenix with a hockey team wtf is this world coming too? They average like 6k people in attendance per game which is laughable. Nashville not so much they have more fans than most other teams but they're worth very little. But yeah bring back the Jets and the Nordiques Bettman is a cocksucker!

This is one record that won´t be broken for a while. Maybe never. Depends on what course the game takes. Will people start favoring hockey with more scoring? Hope so. If so, then maybe it´ll be possible for a ROOKIE to score 77 goals, but as it is - not gonna happen.
