They had no members because they didn't preach the gospel. But evangelical free churches do so. Of course it always could be better.

Media, politics, government, environmentalists, schools, atheists, sports......every group "brain washes" people, everyday in order to influence how we think and act.

Every group struggles to bring more people to its side - specially a new generation. No group is and will never be neutral towards society. Strangely, some people get overly mad when the group influencing kids happens to be a christian church.

I was born into a Christian home but then realized how the religion made no sense. Therefore I am atheist now, when I move out I am converting to being a Wiccan. Why? Because they don't judge and shove hate down people's throats.

@derekeatsyoursoul69 I feel for you that you've had to experience what most of us have, the side of religion still ingrained in hatred and condemnation when the vast majority of its holy texts talks about love and goodwill towards man. I would if you're willing, attempt to find the side to religion which is good the believers that care more for the people of the world and their human needs rather than just their spiritual ones. Believers who use religion as a code of ethic not as absolute truth

Yet another strategy designed in the belief it will help church growth. People should realize that church growth starts with the home as prescribed in the Bible. Parents should do more time and effort in helping the spiritual growth of their children rather than leaving their young ones in the hands of strangers in the church whom you don't know their spiritual maturity or are pre programmed to answer though questions in a textbook manner.

Yeah, the world is becoming more secular... and as it turns out life is getting much better on the whole. Perhaps this is not a bad thing. You can fight it all you want, but religion cannot stand up against science and information. There are more and more atheists everyday, and we are NOT GOING AWAY.
