NCAA's new death penalty...Team must hire Willingham and let coach for three years. No need for player reductions...he only brought in 15 players a year anyways. He will set a team back at least a decade. Want proof...ask ND and Washington!
Weis was pretty bad as well but, at least the dude was a great recruiter and got alotta great players to South Bend, Willingham on the other hand loved 2 star "studs" and golf.....
3:40 of the clip shows you how committed Ty is the golf team, but not to the football team. And a BIG reason why he was let go was his inability to actually take a bigger interest in recruiting than he di in his golf handicap. Glad he is out at WAS now too. But not until the end of the season so he can collect that $1 million buyout, beacse as a Molder of Men he is going to make sure these Huskies have NO recruiting class to come in and fill in any gaps he left behind...AGAIN. Bye Ty!
"Ty got us to those two BCS games." Are you kidding me? If Ty had all the talent, how come he didnt get us to a BCS game? He never fully developed the talent he had. Brady Quinn was an average QB before CW got there. It is proven that Ty is an average coach (just look how he is doing in Washington). I am tired of hearing that race card played against ND in reguard for Ty's firing. Here is his completion percentage year by year:
and ty can thank bob davie for that 10 win season. 07 had no upperclassmen because of ty's recruiting. go look at how many commits washington currently has......
Haha...if you are a UDub fan, I am sure you aint feeling any love for Willingham now huh?? I notice that all the comments on here were before his mammoth 0-11 season....

I blame willingham for the year we had in 07. he didn't recruit in his final 2 seasons at ND, part of the reason he is out of south bend.
mvp10108989 3 years ago
Exactly.
And Charlie couldn't recruit cause he was too busy winning Super Bowls.
Unfortunatecubfan92 3 years ago
hell noo. charlie has had 3 top ten recruiting classes in his 4 years
