I'm sure that on some level Leonard Nimoy realizes that he has given the most influential performance of the 20th Century, both in its effect on the industry (the development of the mega-franchise and tv shows made into movies) as well as its effect on the minds of generations of young people (inspiration.)
Spock is the pivotal character in a show which changed the shape of the future and molded it in its own image. Without Spock I doubt the show would have had such an impact.
This makes me like Spock even more :)
