The F-14D used the much updated IRST coupled next to the TCS and the APG-71 radar. This gave an awesome radar, IRST, and visual spectrum sensor in one platform allowing the F-14D to have an intercept capability in any environment. Stealthy F-22 may have little defense against detection (from a high altitude IRST) if she is flown at high speeds, and altitudes due to frictional heating of her airframe & jet exhaust plums in air temperatures of -30F. The F14 has a chance in this situation vs F22

heres the thing at that altitude... the F-14 won't even be able to get close enough to shoot an F-22 with a heat seaker. The F-22 is still stealth so the F-14 can't see it on radar and the F-22 see's the tomcat and would be able to take it out. even if they got close enough for heat seakers the F-22 would still win. the only way he wouldn't is if the F-22 pilot made a mistake

It was called F/A-22 only for a short time before going back to being called the F-22.

Just because its called navy doesn't mean shit dumb ass! After i got out of basic training i started to help out as a (bat boy) as they called it down at Langley air force base. And if you have ever been near Langley Virginia then you would realize that the Navy flies and tests a lot of their air craft on the base. And when ever something breaks instead of taking it back to their base miles away they have under navy's permission Air Force engineers work on it.

Its stealthier then the F-117, its performance is greater than any fighter and half of the take offs that you see in this vid is with out afterburners. but with afterburners the F-22 can life off the ground less then 1000 ft, you don't see me dissin your EF-2000
