@TheMrHuzzah A synth is a machine for sound design...its a machine for making any sound you can think of. When it was first popularised most people only wanted to use them to replicate orchestras or other acoustic instruments. Its not unheard of neither is this an abuse of a synth. To be honest i would caul the boring music the horrors make abuse of a synth, abuse through neglect.

Hey there, I have a question for you fellows at s4k about keyboard customizing; I want to use my yamaha p-120 as a midi controller, but the yamaha is just a digital piano and has no pitch/mod wheels, but I want a controller that has pitch and mod capabilities, but I am too poor to get a new one so I have to make the p-120 work. Do you know a way to hook a pitch and mod wheel up to a keyboard that does not normally have them?

Can anyone tell me a good quality synth that does these kind of lead tones with hammond organ type sounds for a reasonable price? Thanks in advance!

I love to use use a nord electro with organ sounds, wha wha and distortion... But it's an organ sound not a lead synth. If you want a lead synth the Nord Lead is the way...

find 'nord lead organ sound' on youtube. ;)

Kevin Moore used the JD800 alot on the first two Dream Theater albums. You can hear the ultra-lush phaser effect of the JD800 on the beginning of "Take The Time", part of his "Erotomania" solo and lots of other key solos were done with the "Wailing Guitar" preset, used the main piano sound on it as well (Preset 53)
