I just received a DWPS in the same sizes show here. This kit is a joy to play. The kick drum is a gem, punch and boom at the same time and is loud if you want it to be IMO.

So I have a dilemma.... I found a 4 piece pork pie little squeeler kit in blood red (2 rack toms, floor, bass) ... i believe they go for 1200 brand new.. but i found it at a local store on clearence for 800! .. haha should I get it while I can? or should I save up for something like a 4 piece (snare, tom, floor, bass) DW performer? I know its preference.. but both are great kits

I listen to this with good headphones with good bass and mid presence, and I have to say, I like the sound I get from my PDP Platinums better. Maybe he doesn't have them tuned within the fundamental pitch of the drums, but to me, it seems like my 12x14 and bass drums have MUCH more tone a presence on the kick than this

@apparentlymusical I do my best, BUT sometimes with only one mic I fail to capture the full spectrum. I think you are right . . .these floor toms and kick drum sound much better than this in person. I have to be careful to not doctor up the sound like most manufacturer's do on their videos . . .I don't want to over produce these videos. Ideally, the kit sounds just like it does with you sitting behind it...no effects, eq ,etc.

@shaki02 WRONG! It is made in the U.S. Call DW and ask them. It was made in Mexico . . . the factory there did an excellent job....but DW has now decided to manufacturer the Performance kit in the U.S. at their Oxnard Factory.

Yo! I just bought the cherry kit - 22"kick - 10" 12" and 14" 16" floor toms - WOW !! No competition, the best in it's class! Hands down!! I switched the heads to remo ambassador on 10 - 12 toms and emperors on 14 and 16 floor toms. Emad on kick - Killer!!! I just cant say enough about them. I love the tone.  If I was asked to make a negative comment or any kind of critical remark about the performance drums, it would be - Where is the 13" tom??? haha - catch ya later!

Well, I'm finally convinced... Props to DW for finally making an afforadable "true" DW sounding drumset (not hating on PDP, but don't even front, you KNOW it's not the same). Piece-by-piece if necessary, this drumset shall be MINE!!! :D I already have a 5.5x14 natural finish snare drum on the way arriving just in time for X-mas... ^__^
