yeah ! but not at high video settings. i dont recommend/recummend for counterstrike source and not counterstrike either. It handle starcraft and diablo 2 with any problems. If u buy an Msi wind , send me an message. And tell me about it . The performance ect .

The right Shift key is awkwardly placed after the up arrow key, making it pretty much useless for touch-typists. Adding insult to injury, there is wasted, blank space between the up arrow button and the question mark key, where the Shift key should have been.

Yeah such computer isn't designed for the usual entertainement use (unless you're an oldstyle gamer... then yeah it can play some game) because of the lack of space and processor. Let's say that it's components are comparative to what was popular in 2000ish. It's more for business purpose such as data entry and internet browsing...and is made to be very affordable. The only things that costs much is the OS and programs inside it.

I am planing to buy one of these netbooks so i've been looking around on what this one could do. and from what i've discovered what that that games that you can play on it can be rather new too.

Sim city 5, Battle for middle earth 2, World of warcraft and warhammar online will run on the Eee, with no problems what so ever.

Just bought a 1000 today! Really happy with it, starts up mega quick. You really need the scaled up size, I dont know how people can type on the smaller models, the keyboard is large enough, and has the double height enter key.

urgh, when Asus scale the EEEPC up, it totally loses it's charm.

Asus should stick to making them as small, energy efficient and cheap as possible.

It looks like the perfect size on video but seeing it in real life its smaller than it looks. That keyboard was very hard to type a line without going back and correcting it. Its those bloody tiny keys. The screen was workable. The mouse pad is not as irritating as some reviewers make out. The machine I buy whether it be Asus, Advent or the HP notebook has to run windows XP, not Vista.

Sorry about all the comments. The 1000 has Bluetooth built in. Which is awesome. And the larger SSD is awesome. Because there is no way I am buying a netbook with a normal Hard drive. I want something that is gonna boot up in seconds be small and easy to use. And soooo many people complain about the 901's keyboard. And I used one, idk which model it was, but it was 399, and the keyboard was really tiny. But its a tiny screen so its understandable. I am just lost, confused, and need assistance.

buying the Eee PC is pretty expensive in UK when you compare the same model available in the States. Another doubt that has crept in is the price of the 901 is comparable to a modest laptop which would have all the functions and capacities you could ever need at your fingertips.

For the price of the 901 you could buy a full size laptop with a dvd burner and a lot more. I am getting the 900. Its only 449. 50 bucks more for a lot more hard drive space and upgradeable ram is worth the extra 50. After playing with the Eee PC for a while, they keyboard isn't bad at all. Its small, but you get used to it. I have a plam centro, and the buttons are really small. so i carry around a foldable keyboard, and its nice. So I could use that along with a bluetooth mouse.

I'm not sure whether you're making the case for me to buy a full sized laptop or buying the Eee PC. I already have a laptop. Its now old by todays standards -single core pentium4 with 700+ Mb and 33Gb hardDrive and DvD reWritale drive but the battery no longer charges up and has to be plugged into the mains -permanantley if its to work. I could get a new battery but I don't want to spend anymore money on it. Its also rather heavy. I'd leave my laptop at home but the Asus I'd take to work.

...Like you, I love the size of the Eee PC but I'm not sure if its enough to persuade me to buy it when, for a fraction more money I could get a dual core laptop and alot more ram.

What is also bugging me is the processor of the Asus. I'm trying to stay clear from celeron processors or the equivalent of one as its relatively old with performance squeezed to death out of it. And now, if it wasn't complicated enough I'm also looking into the Eee PC 1000.

What would you do if you were me??

I like the 1000. Its sweet. 40GB of SSD, nice 10 inch screen. And the full size keyboard is awesome. But come on. 700 dollars? You can get a nice laptop from walmart for that much, with a dvd drive, 17inch screen, and everything. And the 10 inch is getting really close to the same size as a normal laptop. And the 901 is 599. Idk. That's a lot for a umpc. I am pretty sure i am getting the 900 for 449. The resolution and screen size of the 700 and 701 is toooo small. The 900 seems perfect

and the keyboard is not bad at all once you start typing on it. I can't wait to get a 900. I am so excited about getting one. you can take it to mcdonalds, you can take it to a friends, you can take it anywhere and it almost fits in your pocket. The 700 is small, but i think the resolution and 7 inch screen is crazy when browsing firefox. The 8.9 is not big, but its not tiny. I think its just right. But I am still not sure if I am definitely getting the 900 or 901 yet. But the 449 or 599 matters

I wish I could tell my mind to be still. When I want something it keeps on churning untill I get it. You are right about the size of the 1000 bordering on a fullsized laptop and if you should decide to get a normal sized laptop you'd be back to square one... still too bothersome to take out with you because of the size (laptops are not that portable).

Whenever I used to take my laptop with me it was like I was planning for a big event... packing this and packing that...

You aint kidding. I had a 17inch Widescreen HP and I loved that thing. But it weighed like 12 pounds. I used it ALL the time. I just can't imagine what things are gonna be like when carrying around an Eee PC 900 are gonna be like. I can't wait.

Since chatting to you last I've had my head turned. I'm kind of very impressed with the Advent 4211 which is alot cheaper than the Asus 901 with very simular specs and its available NOW! I was at PCWorld on saturday and it took great restraint on my part not to take out my credit and buy it.

More research is needed I think.

Isn't the Advent 4211 basically an MSI wind? I was considering buying that too, but I've finally pulled the trigger on a 901 from Amazon (due 12th Aug). I'm just put off buy the fact that it only has 20GB storage. But apparently it has an unused Zif connector which enables you to install an iPod-like 1.8" HD. (hopefully it hasn't been removed in the UK models!)

But the rumored EEE PC "900A" (aka 903) is going to be a must have! (if it ever comes to light)

Like I said, I wanted the Eee PC because of how small it is, and how it could almost fit in a pretty large pocket. So I want something really small thats really easy to carry around. I was going to originally get the 8GB model with the 8.9 inch screen because its bigger than the 7 inch, but not huge. All the features I wanted from the HP Mini-note are in the 1000. But then I was just gonna buy the 901. But now I am confused and don't know what to get. How much is the 1000 anyway. That matters to

I am confused. I don't know which Eee PC I want to buy. I like the 1000, but the 901 is smaller in size, and the idea is to have a super portable netbook. Now, the bigger keyboard is awesome. Because I have been thinking about getting the mini note. Keep in mine, it doesn't have a SSD. I wanted it because the screen and 92% keyboard. Now the 1000 is out, with a much bigger SSD (40GB) compared to the 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 GB ones. But that size difference between the 901 and 1000 is big. So IDK.
