  • Rachmaninoff was a master at painting emotion with musical tones as his colors. Fantastic playing! I play #6 myself, one day I'll learn #7.

  • brilliant interpretation, bravo!

  • Dominic, I loved this. Gorgeous sound, velvet throughout. In nr 6, such a slow tempo, going for it courageously placidly, but able to keep the legato, density of the line throughout. same for #7, heavenly colour, intoxicating depth of sound and legato. It's maybe the aerodinamics chip in your brain - or rather, fluid dinamics here. All my admiration.

I'm guessing from this, you might like my own piano compositions, posted here and in my website fabiocosta.info

Very glad to learn about you!

  • What one means is (it is logical to me) even though it says piano it can be piano in relation to the next part which says mf

as sforzando after piano is not the maximum forte (sforzando)

  • For the first piece just wondering if it is the piano that makes a melody be heard less--yet that was an awesome performance.

  • This interpretation is amazing.

  • Terrific!

  • Dominic

Your playing is much much much beter and much more beautiful that professional pianists

Your sound is like the gratest pianist in the world

    Congratulations

    Hermann

  • Dear clsmsclvr: As English is not my mother tongue, I am sorry for the lack of sensitiveness in advance!

There are very different ways of showing your emotions and - thank God - it s not necessary that we all feel the same at the same time. However, it is essential to recognize and to respect this fact.

In this sense: Dominic, You'll be there in Fort Worth in 2011!

  • I dont think the video gives full credit, however a truly great performance and highly enjoyable. I'd love to see and hear this live!

  • Cool, even playing, with a nice sound. But disappointing in its lack of passion, dynamic range, and sense of emotional urgency one should experience when listening to these pieces.

  • Emotional urgency?

Sorry, clsmsclvr, your comment makes no sense whatsoever! Probably another potential competitor trying to demean really nice performance. Shame on you!

  • Very good playing and probably well deserved entrance to the competition! Five stars and best wishes!

  • Beautifully played! Thank you for this divine music.

  • And to think that this guy is also a world-class race car designer.......

    Wonderful, heavenly playing!

  • Well, I'm just glad I'm not entered this year. The level is astonishingly high in many of the entries, as demonstrated by this extraordinary performance. Hope to meet all you wunderkinds in Fort Worth in 2011.

  • Whoa. Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious!

  • Standing Ovation!!!

  • Absolutely effortless and GORGEOUS!! Wow!

  • why do we try to exercise these rachmaninoff preludes...ther comes a god and plays them himself

  • Incredibly beautiful Rachmaninov -- superb tone and ease of playing. Very natural ability. This is beyond amateur! :)

  • Wow! Shimmering beauty. Let me be the first to give you 5 stars!
