camstudio isn't a game recorder try ZdSoft Game Recorder i can give you a serial just pm me...

record from speakers is temporarily unavailable? Wow, rather an important bit of information, dont you think? Odd that it is mentioned in passing. Without that ability to record from speakers, why use camstudio? The rest of the infomation you are giving in this video is utterly unimportant in light of that new problem.

Why use CamStudio?

I don't know ... maybe for its intended purpose of record yourself using your desktop so you can create video tutorials?

If you took the time to actually LISTEN to the video I said I didn't have the source code for that feature and so I couldn't include it in the new version.

If it really bothers you THAT much, use 2.0 or preferably another piece of software.

I use this program all the time and I can seriously say I have only needed to record audio from the speakers once. Plus you could just go down to your recording options under the volume control and tell it to record through stereo mix.

When i press record and it records and i save it my camstudio player shows but my video isn't in the player

Nick...running this(or was)on Vista in XP SP2 compatibility mode...however kept geting "AudioOpen Failed" error message.

No problem with microphone....went back to 2.0 and Hey Presto...up and running again???

I heard there's a version of camstudio that is compatible with Vista and is found in other websites but not yours. It's called camstudio 2.1 did you guys make that version???

I'm running the beta on XP. The cpu utilization is up around 96% is and mames the audio kind choppy. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I've closed all non-vital background tasks. Great program!

When I right-click, I don't see anything about compatibility or XP-compatibility. It would be helpful if someone would make a CamStudio video of the hack and post on YouTube.

Yup it works fine. For me 2.5 beta 1 just needed a bit of tweaking, and I got it to work in vista nativley. pm me for any comments/

This is pretty cool, and the support for vista is pretty good. I have it, and it's fine. The only problem is when you try to record audio & video... it's bad, but there is a way to make it run like it's windows xp. Right click on the application>select compatibility> then choose run compatibility with Windows XP SP2. it runs just like XP now!

Not bad not not bad at all but your video player needs work. I have windows vista so I guess the player work as good.

At the current time, no. The video is actually XP with a Vista theme.
