The Constitution may technically always be "intact", but that doesn't mean they can't pass widespread and sweeping laws restricting rights. It does not affect you now, but it is possible that it can. We all want to believe that those we trust with power are of a higher moral character, and would never abuse their power. However the truth is far from it. All public servants are strangers, with their own agendas and political standpoints; which may conflict with what ever you are doing at the moment. If you want to blindly trust them, then be my guess, I suspect with time and experience MAY come wisdom, and you shall regret it.
