  • THAT IS NOT A GODDAMN PROGRAMMER!

  • @pimpbenben No, it's a goddamn PIC programmer board!

  • any better project bro?

  • I saw this as a kit at Conrad electronics

  • The programmer puck, and the power supply, but the board was my idea, with parts all supplied by myself,

  • that board you made isnt a pic programmer board. It's just a pic with several IO's.

The actual programmer board is inside de ICD2.

A programmer board programs a PIC..

  • the first thing I say is that my board doesn't do the programming...

  • You should out a lcd screen on it

  • I recommend spending some time learning digital circuitry because entering into PICs. Perhaps try to learn assembly language or C as well.

  • if you can make some pics or programmers cheap i wud buy some (my price range is limited tho because im a student)

  • What do you mean?

  • i mean if you put the programmers, and the chips themselves in the store. just like your kits. then buyers would be able to learn how to do it.

  • Well that's a good idea, but the problem is that the MPLAB ICD2 unit cost $300CDN alone. As well, It takes hours and hours and hours to be able to use PICS. The only reason I'm able to do it off the bat is because I was educated in ASY code in school. If you're a student, it will al be taught to you too =)

  • WOW! 300 bucks? i thought they were like 50!..... are there any other programmers that are cheap that you would recommend to someone who hasn't done microcontrollers yet?

oh and by the way, im in highschool, im probably not going to collage for electronics. just a hobby.
