I am terrified of having dogs around ferrets, growing up with them or not. Accidents happen cuz dogs don't realize how hard they bite. I would be in fear 24/7 if i let a dog around my babies.
This video makes me miss when I had ferrets. I forgot how funny the war dancing was. lol And they each have their own personality. Really neat animals.
I love your ferrets, and usually, tyil, the trick is you get them when they're young, and so they grow up together, kind of making a family, which is what I see in this video.
@Inquisitive62 Well ferrets can nip during play just like a puppy or kitten. They can easily be taught not to nip at human skin! Ferrets have been domesticated a very long time, some believe longer than the cat; they are not just tamed wild animals.

i have two ferrets, Dragon (my bro's) and cinn short for cinnamon buns (mine)! loki is the white ferret, right? well if so, cinn looks like loki, and Dragon is the same kind of ferret as the other four! p.s. cinn is a martial ferret!

My aunt is moving to an apartment with a no pets policy, and she wants me to take her three ferrets... but I have two big dogs, a german shepard cross, and chocolate lab... great dogs, but they chase squirrels and stuff - and I'm imagining one chomp could kill a ferret... even if it's playful. Any ideas?
well if you're at all worried I would always keep them seperated. but usually dogs get along just fine with ferrets, they don't view them as prey. The dogs that concern me are terriers and hounds, both because of their prey drive. I would just hold a ferret in your hands with the dog on leash and just see how the dogs react from a distance.
of course always supervise, but i've had my ferrets around 9 dogs over the years and only one a (rhodesian ridgeback) was ever a cause for concern.

You should get from an animal shelter, and they are a lot of work, but it's not a chore it's a lifestyle. You should consider getting pet insurance for them... :)
dont let the diseases scare you.. certainly: dont let it fool you. all animals can get alot of diseases. :)
But its true.. ferrets do take a lot of work. Certainly in the beginning, when you have to teach them what they can and can't do! Good thing you are reasearching. I could recommend you "Ferrets for Dummies" the book. I learned a lot from it. Also make sure you read as much as you can on forums about ferrets, and good information-sites about ferrets! ;)

And how amazing that all the animals get along together so well!
