Blackberry bold 9000 white screen

I can't find a video solution to my problem my blackberry 9000 when I unlock it it gets white screen but when I press the menu button or any button it fixes itself and works just fine everytime when I unlock the screen this happen though... And it all started after 3 days when I update it to OS5.. has anyone the same prob?

disconnect the LCD then and reconnect it or get a new LCD or just take it to the shop and pay £50 i dont know how much that is in dollars i am english

It's the LCD video data ribbon cable, the insulation gets cut by rubbing on a metal grounding stap located next to the cable and then electrically shorts the cable to ground. I disassembled mine, wrapped the ribbon cable with electrical tape, re-assembled and works fine now. I was getting the white screen of death constantly now it's perfect.

yh i got the same problem though but what i do know is that when there is a white screen put the charger on and then it should work for another couple of hours..

Well the same thing happened to my ipod and my moms phone what i had to do is find a certain presure point and the screen should work for a little bit and try setting it down and not moving it it should hopefully help

i have a blackberry bold 9700, i have the same issue. You can fix it! I do it in dutch:

Kijk naar het frontje, die is dan kapot. je moet op een bepaalde punt drukken en steeds weer het aan uit knopje indrukken links boven.

u have to replace the screen bcuz it got smashed/broken

You will have to disassemble the device. Search Youtube for "Blackberry Bold 9000 disassembly". Watch the video by "wwwcnncn".

You don't have to remove the screen completely. You need to pry up the screen from the mini-USB port and place some electrical tape over the solder points. (If you pause that video at 1:32, look at the person's right hand/middle finger. It is next to the place you need to cover) Reassemble and try it out.

Hey man, beautifull color i like the white bold. The problem is the mini-usb port have contact with the screen you need put a piece of paper in his place. Sorry 4 my bad english.
