  • i love ursula

  • am i the only one who likes this ending better than the movie? the way they get to have the two worlds together for the one night and Ariel asking her father for forgivnesss for the trouble she caused and his telling her that he will alway be with her in the surf against the dock and the saltin the air...Beautiful... :')

  • *clap clap clap clap* Bravo! Bravo!

  • I wish this musical would come to Germany!

  • Amazing!!! :D

  • Oh my god. Tears. So many. Not really. But inside, there's just so many tears. I love this. Thank you so much for putting it online.

  • how FIERCE is that wig?

  • I would've burnt my vocal chords by screaming when Ursula bowed!!!! I JUST LOVE THAT CHARACTER! Well I mostly like the villains hahahaha BUT THIS PLAY WAS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!!

  • The only thing I've read about Triton all the way through the parts of the musical was 'Buhuuu, he's black, but Ariel ist white..!' and on and on... Hey, this guy is freaking awesome, thought about that?! \o/

  • That was beautiful. That is PRECISELY why I love the Disney version of The Little Mermaid. Because of the happy ending which she so deserved.

I'm like Ariel in a way, except where she loves the world above I love the sea. Always have. Always will.

  • @Twilightfey so...you're like her daughter, Melody, then. :P

  • If I were there, when Ursula bowed, I'd be screaming, "AUNTIE URSULA!!!!" :)

  • This IS THE musical. My all time favorite! I want so badly to be Eric.

  • Lmao! I'm just relieved that she's royalty! xD

  • I love this! I'm also 16 and engaged

  • Yehey! We have one here in the philippines!

  • @gie3333, I saw it! It's AWESOME!!!

  • I dream of playing ursula in this show!!! In all honesty id love to be ariel but i am way too big for that.

  • Wish this one would come to Belgium... Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies

  • This is so much more than I expected it's WONDERFUL!!!

  • SHES 16 AND GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!! wtf

  • @KennedyFallanCooper3 IT HAPPENED ALL THE TIME IN THE TIME PERIOD THE LITTLE MERMAID IS BASED IN. Get over it.

  • @KennedyFallanCooper3 It was common back then.

  • Whoooo! So much kissing :P

In all seriousness though, I wish I could see this so badly. At the top of my bucket list is see a broadway play that I love :) This would totally qualify.

  • I like the finale in Broadway version WAY better.

  • i was bawling when ariel and king triton had that father-daughter moment when he sand to her and everything. SO BEAUTIFUL!

  • This was gorgeous. Made me cry.

  • OMG! At the end the chef is probibly like. "Does this mean I'm not allowed to serve fish anymore?" or something like that. XD

  • Wow I got MAJOR chills!!!

  • @dancinmeg03 This is PRE-Broadway. They made cuts/added things/changed stuff etc. in Denver before going to Broadway

  • I like the ending of the Broadway cut better.

  • @MrDisneyCats How does the Broadway version end again? I just saw it at Tuachan in Utah, and I can't seem to remember how it ended. Thanks.

  • @chiquitabonitad She sang her voice back when she took the shell. Then she broke it. She turned human before If Only (reprise) and then it pretty much went like this from then on.

  • "when you feel the tingle of salt in the air...." lol

  • I'm jealous of the girl that got to be Ariel!!!!!! I have always wanted to be Ariel on broadway!!!!!!

  • Hey juliewinchester...thanks for uploading this and sharing it with everyone!

  • Holy crap! AMAZING! DREAM ROLE OF URSULA!

  • I was cheering and clapping so loudly at the end of this that my dad came back in my room and threatened to take my computer if I made that much noise again XD

  • I think Eric should have said screw the throne and become one of the merfolk.

  • About Sierr'as bad acting, or contrived script, or whatever, you should not be blaming her. It will always be the director's decision how she acts or reacts, or her general 'overboardness'. On stage, she needs to over-exaggerate to convey emotion else you won't say it and say she's being too subtle, in comparison to the obvious cartoon faces. As for the music, she's not Jodi Benson. She's someone different.

A very different take was brought to a reasonably different story; enjoy it as it is :)

  • @ohmyitsviv I personally like the Broadway cut better than this and the movie. Sierra was awesome and I love Sherie Rene Scott

  • "king of the sea and she's his daughter?" Eric nods. "does that upset you?" "heavens no I'm just relived she's royalty." I was saying *gasp* your so judgemental

  • so jealous of her dressss!!!! and her haairrr... and her voice... ARGH !!!! i want all thatttt

  • If anyone is in the St. Louis area The Muny (an outdoor theater) is performing The Little Mermaid July 6-14. There are even free seats avalible to the show.

  • For some reason, I always like the ending of Disney animated films, usually because of the reprise of the popular songs.

  • I thought it was weird they had humans and mermaids dancing together....

  • How does Sierra change THAT fast?!

  • i performed in the national pre-release of this show! meaning before the show began touring we were aloud to perform for the first time anywhere:)

we were given the rights by tom schumacher, who produces all disney stage productions like lion king, beauty and the beast, mary poppins, and little mermaid:)

    AND I PLAYED PRINCE ERIC:)

  • dude nick pitera should do a one man show of this xD

  • i wish i could have seen this play.disney please bring the little mermaid back.

  • When he said "you're her father?" I bet he was thinking "but you're black" lol

  • @MsDiabetic1 Just too much tanning lol

  • @MsDiabetic1 Thats what i thought the entire time i saw the show. although. some of her sister are black

  • i loved it :")

  • Thank you very much for uploading this! I'm from another country and it was difficult for me to watch the show even though I was dying to. You definitely made my day. Thank you very much!!!!!

  • This whole Musical was amazing and well pulled off! From the Heelys (lol) To the amazing sea land transitions! FANTASTIC!!!! <3

  • Sebastion was just holding it for Triton while he speaks to his daughter.

  • I wish I could be part of that world....

  • it is still on brodway today or not anymore? because i want to see it. there a few plays i have seen the lion king a lot of times. wicked 2 times. beauty and the beast 1 time. mary poppins one time and mabbie the 2nd time this year.

  • @Wilburfan1 nope its not running on Broadway

  • @Wilburfan1 it closed back in 2008 , but there is a tour starting up this year

  • @Sky7228 So they are performing The Little Mermaid on broadway again?

  • @eienMMO it won't be on Broadway it'll be a national tour so technically no

  • @Sky7228 I mean, they will be performing this all around the country right?

  • @eienMMO yes, the tour will be playing around the country but it was delayed from Fall 2010 to sometime later this year. I wouldn't hold my breath for it sadly.

there has been serious debate over whether the sets could handle the movement, and whether it was strong enough. There was rumor they are rebuilding the creative staff but who really knows.

  • @Sky7228 I really hope they are able to tour successfully. I would LOVE to attend a show! :) If there's any way you can keep me updated on what you know, please do!

  • @Sky7228 I just Googled tour dates, and the only known are in CA, UT and NC. I really hope they add more tour dates though!

  • @Sky7228 They should! The sets they used on broadway are too sparkly and kitschy in my opinion! Including some of the costumes.

  • @Sky7228 it closed 2009

  • hahaha heelies must have made so much money out of this hahaha!

  • they have heelies on :)

  • I LOVE Eric's voice!!! I'm EXTREMELY mad that they don't have "Her Voice" in the disney movie!!! I wish i could've seen this live!!!

  • I like this finale so much more than the Broadway version.

  • amazing. thank you for posting!

  • I can't believe it's off Broadway now :(

  • Does anyone know if there will come a dvd from the musical? I would love that!

  • @Mylaine8 There better be! I'd watch this over and over!

  • Whoa, she actually sounds like Ariel in this scene!

  • I'm so glad you uploaded this. This will be the closest I'll get to seeing it till it goes on tour and even then It'll be forever before it comes even remotely near my city.

  • I´m from Spain, I haven´t the chance to see it on live so...Thank you very much for uploading this, I was crying xD this was my first disney movie, and marked a happy time of my life, thank you very much ^^

  • Did anyone else hear the cackling in the background after "she can save herself"?

  • Thanks for uploading this! It's supposed to be going on tour this year, isn't it? Can't wait!

  • i can imagine that this would have to be the hardest disney movie that they could turn into a musical, because of the costumes, the water and swimming part. but bravo, brava and BRAVA to Sierra Burgess

  • I loved this! wish I could've seen it live! Thank you so much for uploading this :D

  • I loved the whole thing.

    thanks for the upload. :)

  • The singers are amazing and when Eric and Ariel on the boat and kissing and rest are singing "Part of Your World" it sounds amazing!

  • thanks this was very good

    shout out to Sebastian

    and Flounder :)

  • i do like the stage version, it was a brave risk that paid off but the voice coming back i have to say i thought was too fast, in the stage she doesnt sing it back, its just KISS oh, my voice, its back gooshy eyes

  • @wolfchicgalpal I agree! But this is before they went to Broadway, so they may have changed it. I have no idea if they did, though.

  • I wish I could hug Norm Lewis!

  • OH MY GOSH!!! this was awesome! i didn't think that i would cry at the end of this but i did!!!

  • i watched everything! thank you!!! :D

  • better not mess with the 2nd one >=(

  • @HahaToasted Yes. I missed the Vanessa part too. It was one of the best parts in the movie...They made Ursula Triton’s sister & Ariel's aunt. I DID NOT like that AT ALL. It was waaay off the story line and it didn’t make sense. She's half octopus. Not a mermaid. I just didnt care for that. They replaced the Vanessa thing for that & I felt that was a bad decision.

  • @KuromiCupcake Making Ursula Ariel's aunt isn't 'waaay off the story line'. It was actually a concept they originally considered when making the movie. And it's still plausible, even looking at the movie, because Ursula makes mention of having used to live in the palace, before she tried to seize power. Since it's usually relatives of whoever's ruling that try to seize power...And their dad is Poseidon. For God's sake; in myth, Poseidon fathered Triton...And PEGASUS. Half-octopus isn't too odd.

  • @laxbellexmort She could of worked at the palace. & in the Disney version they never said anything about Poseidon fathering Trition or Pegasus (who was not even in the movie!) So how can you even assume?? Ughh This isn’t even worth talking about. PLEASE. Just grow up & except that everyone has their own opinions. You think what you want. Cuz it’s ur opinion. In MY opinion I think is that it IS way off the storyline. And thus, I bid you farewell. Everyone thinks differently. Learn & except that.

  • @KuromiCupcake A little defensive there, aren't you? I was just stating my opinion, which happened to be contrary to yours, and pointing out that it actually isn't that much of a departure from the plot. I'm not assuming anything; Disney borrowed Triton and Poseidon from Greek myth. I'm merely saying that, following that, it wouldn't be a longshot. And I think you're the one that needs to do some growing up, dear, looking at the posts you've made here.

  • @laxbellexmort Wow. Are you serious? Listen, DEAR, I. Dont. Care. You dont know when to stop do you? That is very immature that you feel like you need the last word. That gentleman and I were having that conversation weeks ago. It had came to an end. Im going to tell you this again. Grow up. I dont go commenting and insulting people because they think differently then me. Reread your first comment......Pffff mature indeed.

  • @KuromiCupcake There was no insult anywhere in any of my posts here. So I don't know what you're looking at. And weeks ago? Your post was from a few days ago, you realize? You can tell me to grow up until you're blue in the face- that's not going to magically make me the immature one of the two of us. I have no idea why you insist on being so defensive when someone so much as mentions something contrary to what you've said...But I'm done dealing with you now. You're simply not worth my time.

  • @laxbellexmort If you were a civilized human being & made a comment referring to my opinion, OK fine. But no. You just threw out the childish insults like a highschool student. You say all you did was say your opinion & you think IM the one lashing out, Trying to make me look like the bad guy. But sweetie. The fact is that you DIDNT state your opinion. You simply just insulted and made rude nasty comments to someone you never met in your like. Yes. Very childish.

  • the ending gives me chills! Holy cow!

  • @HahaToasted Okay, there's no need to call names. Use your intelligence, don't just let your fingers run on a keyboard. I was just makign a comment on the fact that it's a broadway play, obviously, they can't do a transformation on stage, well, not a very good one. :/ If anything I was agreeing with you...

  • @HahaToasted the film is a cartoon... LOL Of course it is.. :P

  • I laughed, I cried, I felt ! :O lol I'm playing the sea witch in my school play! :O So, she's a big inspiration for me! :D

-I love how you only clapped for Ursula! XD I hope I get the same effect from people! :O

  • Why The F*** am i crying?! lol

  • @karlaabc123 I KNOW! I was just asking myself the same question!

  • Theres nothing like a curtain call to tear me up! LOL!

  • thank you so much

  • This is so awesome!! It totally made my day to watch this!! Thank you so much for uploading it!

  • man now i want to be on broadway just once XD no not watching it, actualy IN it XD it think it would be so awsome to give my heart in a preformance, then hear the audience at the end!! it would just be so awsome!!

  • ha ha when Ariel kissed Flounder it looked like Flounder was in love with Ariel,Ariel is Gorgouse in the movie and in the the play and Flounder is adorable in the movie the play, wat is the kids name who plays Flounder, can someone plz tell me.this was a TERRIFIC play,Ariel is my fave princess and The Little Mermaid is my fave movie.i Love Disney

  • @iluvGod17 the kid playing Flounder in this video is Cody Hanford.

  • @frymahhide1982 thank u sooooo much

  • i love the giant disco ball that is the sun

  • The Little Mermaid is my FAVORITE disney movie, im such a big classic disney fan. Everyone is saying such great things about this play, & I dont want to sound like a troll or anything....but this play was HORRIBLE. It's so annoying. I skipped so many of the added songs cuz they were so unnecessary & stupid. The jokes were cheesy & not funny at all. Ariel sang notes wrong & was a really bad actress. She tried too hard! The costumes were bad. The ending was bad. The whole thing was bad. Im sorry..

  • @KuromiCupcake You are entitled to your opinion if you didn't enjoy it. But don't say Sierra sang the notes wrong! She beautifully sang what was written. I own the songbook for this musical. So I know what key it's in. I also find it ironic people complain about Sierra's performance when Jodi Benson herself loved it. Don't believe me. There's a video on Youtube. Type in The Little Mermaid on Broadway Premire part 2. She had nothing but praise for Sierra.

  • @Silver54ful i didnt say she doesnt sing well. i think her voice was a good choice for this part. but they way she sang some lines, idk how to explain it...they sounded awkward, someone just needed to correct her and she would of been perfect.

  • @KuromiCupcake That still doesn't make any sense. You say she sang the notes wrong then say you don't even know how to explain it. What lines are you talking about that you thought she sang awkword? Are you referring to the fact that they created a new arrangement for Ariel to sing & that you don't like that it's different to how Jodi sang it?

  • @Silver54ful The way she sang some lines sounded a little werid. not cuz she didnt sing like jodi (if you ask me they kinda sound the same) some lines were a little weak & some were over the top, the parts that were suppose to sound powerful didnt. Still I would of gave her the part, just correct the mistakes. Her acting is another story, she was really cheesy. & i understand shes in water but she would sway her arms so much to the point were it got annoying. it was just like DO SOMETHING ELSE.

  • @Silver54ful Sierra did a good job but in the aspect of certain parts such as part of your world reprise she had no power in her voice almost as thought she was tired and yes she over does the acting because the original story Ariel was a little more reserved then the way she made her out to be in the play. I will say the seen If only was when she truly captures Ariel and brings her to life. honestly she was good but she could do better.

  • @ColeCarter20 I do agree that Sierra is not the greatest actress in the world. I also would have preferred if she would have been more subtle. Check out Betsy Morgan. She's a great actress. But I still don't think she was terrible either. Miley Cyrus deserves that description. As for the singing, I think she has a beautiful voice. Not perfect, but she has raw talent. Unlike Chelsea Morgan Stock who is out of her league. when she sings this score.

  • @Silver54ful lol yeah Miley dose deserve that for sure. she killed the part of your world song. yeah sierra an amazing voice she should pace her self and spread her talent evenly. yeah she needs to be cut slack having to do that role over and over again must take allot of energy. But in my mind she would the only one who could play this part. She kind of reminds me of Amy Adams....

  • @ColeCarter20 It does seem ironic that they're portrayals of these characters are so similar. Amy and Sierra have this joyful and almost innocent quality about them. As for her acting. I hear from the many people who have seem Sierra in Love Never Dies say she's improving. I think she just needs to find her rhythem. Now I persoanlly don't agree that she could be the only one to play this role. I think there are many actresses who have yet to be discovered who do this role wonderfully.

  • @Silver54ful yeah your right there are other actresses who will do great jobs but i will alway compare them with Sierra

  • @Silver54ful p.s. i don't blame sierra i blame the script writer the play could have been better thought out and the mermaid costumes are way over done but it was a hit and hopefully as the show progresses they may consider changes

  • @KuromiCupcake Maybe you should be less of a critic and give judgment where its needed. look at it this way every singer has there own singing finger print. She is not Jodie Benson she is Sierra so her voice is automatically different plus she has a way higher pitch then Jodie. And i think she needs some work but she did a good job. Forgive me if this sounds rude but do you think you could do a better job? the play was lacking but it isn't a cartoon some things aren't possible in real life...

  • @ColeCarter20 I understand that she is a different person. And I know it can never be just like the movie. Trust me I know. All Im saying is it lacked a certain touch. Something that really made you go "WOW!" It felt a little off and awkward at some cheesey jokes. And I felt like some actors, overacted. Again! This is MY opinion. Im just happy they even made a play.

  • @KuromiCupcake you, my lady. Are a bumbling cultureless moron. Kindly return to your room and read manga and go to tublr where people understand you. Reply if you have devised a better musical.

  • @JeNeRegretteRien92 And you, Are a no nothing moron. I simply stated my opinion saying this play could have been better. Don’t take it to the heart Hun, just because you liked it. And sweetie. You don’t know anything about me I’m afraid. No. I do not read manga. And no, I do not have a ***Tumblr. lol. Listen, In life there will be people who have different options. And you can’t just jump down everyone’s though when they don’t think the same way you do. So please. Don’t be so ignorant.

  • I LOVE THAT MUSICAL SO MUCH! <3

    It's just so amazing :3

TLM is such a lovely story <3

Thankyou so much for posting this!!

  • =) i like it , but the story they change it.

  • OMG! That was great! I cryed my eyes out!

  • i dont like the fact that they didnt show her getting her fins back then her legs again, stupid decision to cut it out

  • bravo :)

  • wonderful! I would love to watch this live!

  • Oh Norm Lewis,I could listen to that man forevah!

  • awwwwwww!!!!!! Eric`s Proposaling to Ariel!!!!!!!

  • Oh I Love It!!! It's All So Adorable and the Finale Was Incredible!!! :D

  • The ending makes me want to cry! So beautiful!!!! I have to go see this if it ever comes again!

  • its still kinda weird to me that ariel's father is black lol and she has red hair XD

  • god that was anti-climactic...

"...eric--WHOA i can talk." hahah lammmeee

  • Even though the tails in the end are freaky, this is now on my top 5 favourite musicals. Absolutely, most definitely, BRILLIANT!

  • is it ust me or does Prince Eric look like Gaston more??

  • @sxystar41 not really, this eric's more good looking!

  • @JanesseaRoshan Is voice sounds like Gaston though...lol

  • Lol they need to do one of those lame 'Where are they know?' ind of thing

  • It must to play a fish.

  • Thanks for posting this... I appreciate the effort... but I'm not really feeling it

  • Ok, I've said this before, and I'll say it again: from 2:23 to 2:32 sierra sounds exactly like judy garland in the wizard of oz!!! It's totally something like dorothy would say lol!!

  • The songs and set are beautiful, but I wish they kept the end of the movie the same

  • OMG they should do the second movie! :D LOL I just felt like seeing Melody :)) and gosh! flounder is sooo adorable <3

  • @jellymuffinXOXOpjo you too ? lol

  • Well that was lovely. Thank you so much for uploading this!!

  • @ndebbiegirl you are very welcome.

  • they need to do one of the little mermaid 2 return to the sea

  • @unofficallyalice1 Yes they do, I must agree ! lol

  • @JulieWinchester same goes for me thatd be awesome

  • @unofficallyalice1 I agree and maybe they could have this cast return at least at the start of it.

  • @unofficallyalice1 i agree and if they do i want to be melody

  • OMG AWESUM i wanna see it in real life

  • omg Ariel is the most beautiful of them all, and Eric is so perfectly sweet it makes me want to marry him, their love story always gives me goosebumps

  • Thank you so much. Awesome!

  • Lo. @ 0:09

Sebastian has the Trident. I guess he's the King of the Sea now :D

  • @BriceSmudar lol I couldn't help but figure Sebastian ruling the merfolk^^

  • @BriceSmudar no, I`m pretty sure that Sebastian was just holding the Trident for Triton

becase at the end if U didn`t notice is that at the end Kind Triton is holding the Trident.

  • @BriceSmudar No he isn't! Triton's still the Sea King. Sebastion was just holding it for Triton while he speaks to his daughter.
