@rainbow1851 Umm... simply because the Wii isn't capable of downloading things at all with it's own software. You can use a computer and download multiple things at once while Wii isn't capable of running things on it's own Browser. And, you do not have a directory to your Wii to keep anything downloaded.

@vampiregames2 I've done it a lot of times trying to install things and did it improperly and I still have my wii. Messing up your wii mostly comes from an action a channel gives you or an untrusted Mod. Installing the homebrew channel is safe so no need to worry about that.

On your computer? Should be in your Computer labeled in front with a very skinny (horizontal) slot. Keep in mind not all computers support SD card slots.

@johnnienoob It should just load in the homebrew menu where it used to be blank with bubbles. If you have more than 1 app there should be a list of apps there. Also, make sure you placed the Apps folder in the correct location (which should be in the root of your SD card).

@johnnienoob Yes. You can delete the Private folder and the Boot elf file once your done installing the homebrew channel (it will free more space). The old private folder though, you should keep incase you have any SSBB save data in there.

@southernexposurefied The game desyncs. Technically your changing part of the game and using it online. Just think of it like using different versions.

@quicksilver2055 Download cheat manager app and you can select the hacks you want to appear. But beware some don't work or they freeze. If your wii freezes it wont have an affect on your system though. Just turn them off if they do. If you want to have stage and character textures, I can't help you with that clearly since I screwed up alot of times doing that and almost damaged my personal belongings.

@gamesbyluke99 Apps are both. You can get mini games or hack codes. But, in order to load all the extra hack codes I recommend the gecko OS App.

@ubershyguy8 Just move them. Copy all the stages to your SD card in brawl then just go to your computer and save the private folder somewhere. Once your done installing homebrew just put the private folder back to the SD card and copy it down on your Wii system memory.

@noshah26 Ok. This has been said a lot. That's the Homebrew Main menu theme. When it says that its loading it tries to check the SD card for any homebrew apps. If it doesn't have any homebrew apps then the screen will be blank with nothing but the homebrew main menu theme. Try to get an App to test if it's correctly working (Like the homebrew browser app).

You aren't suppose to put the homebrew Apps in the "Private folder" you are suppose to make a new folder on the root of the SD card called "Apps" and place any homebrew Apps in that folder. The bubbles is the homebrew menu, its just part of the theme. And you can't navigate with a controller on "bootmii" you need to use the buttons on the Wii system (Eject, reset, and power on/off).

You can use a usb to load apps on the homebrew channel but you cannot load the homebrew channel on the wii with it because it does not yet have the drivers. It puts on the drivers when you install the homebrew channel. Even if you load apps from a usb drive in the homebrew channel the apps may crash. You can load them, the screen will turn black for a second and it will go back to the homebrew channel. Some of the apps aren't compatable with usb drives even with the drivers.

@2010Rapmaster Very common error. I can't really help you on this one since I don't know 100% of whats going on with that part. I don't think its the SD, since (from what I've heard) you can use it to install homebrew.

@penisboy97 -You need to remember that this exploit only works if you are using a US NTSC version of the game and Wii.

-Make sure you have renamed your entire original "private" directory on the SD card to "privateold" or something similar.

-Make sure the Smash Stack "private" folder has been copied to the root of your SD card and you have a valid .elf file in the root directory.

That's from the wiibrew FAQ. This is all I can give you for now.

@34MRFJ The main page of the SD card. For example, you got your new SD card and you plug it in the computer and its all empty, that's the root of the SD card (in which you keep your folders, files etc).

@frediab Its not possible. If the root of the SD card doesn't exist, its like saying you never had an SD card. The root is the Main page. Its technically the first Area you see when launching your explorer and loading the SD card.

@MewMaster1237 k So you moved them to a different SD card which means your wii shouldn't have any available stages left on its memory and you have the boot.elf file and the Private folder on another SD card. It should work once your on Vault and you insert the SD card and access the empty stage builder.

@CristianDMusic If you like set the date like a week later or what ever you want to set it to, it will be deleted since custom stages sent by Nintendo doesn't last forever, it has a time limit. Then once your done installing the homebrew channel, you can set the date back.

Only for those who don't know what they're doing with the homebrew channel are those who get they're wii damaged/bricked. So, homebrew doesn't damage your wii at all IF you know what your doing.
