I prefer the M11x but the biggest downside is that it doesn't have an integrated CD/DVD drive. Yeah, you can buy it separately for about $50 or less but it would've been nice to have that option included into the system.

Go for Alienware. It got the coolest design, The AlienFx is awesome, The Command Center, Customized Nameplate, and webcam. You can get i7 turbo mode core, and all that kinda stuff.

Fuck Mac, Alienware is the best!

i agree its beautiful, powerful, brilliant but if you going to use it, try to not carry it around. you back and your shoulders going to feel the PAIN . That was i feel every-time when i have to get mine to the office, Its very heavy. I looks great and everybody wants to touch it and some times i prefer to have something more minimalist like a mac pro or sort of. The bad thing its the mac ones if i order some specification like mine it going to worth 5,000 hahaha and i dont think so.

most powerful? the only thing powerful about this laptop is that its a big rip off, asus g51jx is way better for the money. if you want to get the same specs as the asus g51jx on your alienware, prepare to spend over 800$ more. but hey its up to you guys.

to be honest alienware system is nice... but its not very pratical, my M17x is gathering dust right now, havn't touched it in over 2 weeks. The sharp metal edges ( you can see in the video as well) really cuts into your forearms while you use it.

also the fact the laptops weighs so much i never really bring them outside with me...

still nice system though.

The main technological reason the core i7's are better is due to the fact that the cores can communicate to each other without going to to the N bridge and back again. This gives practically everything a 30% performance boost. That's just one of the many improvements.

people now pay more for a graphics card than a CPU and NVIDIA has demonstrated GPU can execute apps faster than a CPU

Honestly I'm not into silicaon valley politics and prehaps I am a bias user seeing as Intel founded the nonprofit I work for. Personally I am enjoying my new Core i7. I've purchased AMD proccessors in the past, had nothing but problems. So for now I will happly stick with Intel.

This laptop doesn't even have a Nvidia gtx280m. How the hell is it the most powerful 15" laptop in the world? The Sager NP8690 is a 15" notebook with an i7 processor and a nvidia gtx280m, and it is cheaper than this overpriced piece of shit. What a rip. lol

How come the m17x doesn't have one of these processors. The best processor you can get for it is the Intel® Core™2 Extreme Quad QX9300 2.53GHz (12MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB). Isn't the i7 better? So why would they put it on the small notebook

@ChocolateTerrorist The only reason I can think of is probably the heat the insides would go through running two SLI graphics cards as well as Core i7. I believe Turbo mode on Core i7 can stir a bit of heat up

yea i just went through and configured one , its a 240m gt 512. that's pretty disappointing. My card now is a 9800m GTS 1gb and that spanks that card with a wooden padel. the 260m gtx doesn't beat my card that much either but i really want one.

@JonnyRocketfingers7 If you wanna use the Laptop for working, i wouldn't choose the Alienware (still an awesome laptop) but it's very big and heavy so you won't have much fun carrying it around ;) Macbook has a nice screen and it's powerful too, that's why they say it's good for art/graphics. I suggest you visit your local pc-store and try them out and find what fits to you.
