BUT, i feel that this is a problem bands have, where they rely on one person to be able to sing the main stuff, whereas i think there really needs to be two parties that can sing the same part in case this happens where the main singer loses their voice...but this shows that he really just went on with the show, i love that, that makes me respect him so much!
If Queen Productions EVER release a 70's concert on DVD (hello Brian May!!!), this probably won't make the cut. Still an interesting look at Queen live in the 70's. Thank God for YouTube. If not for the 'Tube, we would never seen footage like this.
Freddie´s a fighter. The majority of today´s singers would cancel the concert. Thanks to Freddie´s bravery the Japanese fans could see the concert and it´s pretty recognizable that they enjoyded it. Fred forever
shitty show. Short. Freddy's voice sucks. They played some of the best songs only half way through. And they played "We will rock you" twice. Bad. Just bad.
It's too bad the only time Japan got the best of Freddie was in the mid-'70s. But despite the fact that Freddie's voice is in bad shape, the rest of the band is in top form, and this is still a very good concert.
Watch Tokio show 1985 and you'll see even worse. Freddie's voice is in better shape, but the rest of the band is so uninspired that it hurts. And Roger playing that synth drums and Spike Edney's synthesizers ruin the mood of old songs, like "Now I'm Here".
It's a strange coincidence that most filmed Queen shows aren't their best. Wembley'86 for example was probably the worst Queen show of the Magic tour, at least in terms of Freddie's vocal abilities.
everytime Freddie's voice cracks he tunes down to a lower melody which still sounds good to me hearing a new version. Beautiful! Queen is really an influence!
