  • This version,1965 Rogers&Hammerstein,is the gold standard.Every actor/actress in this version deserves the highest praise!OUTSTANDING!

  • i like the newer version better

  • They have yet to make a truly good version of Cinderella in movie form. Without singing! With a truly beautiful Cinderella. I don't think shes beautiful very average. One you would believe a prince would single out from a room full of ladies.

  • Oh man! lol. I crack up laughing every time me I see the scenes with the carriage and horses up in the air @ 3:12 and 3:55. It's just so pathetically horrible. How can anyone take that seriously? lol.

It would have been better if they didn't have half of the horses legs moving like a machine and just had all the horses legs not moving at all.

  • Thumbs up if you're watching (and still loving) in 2012!!!!!

  • I love how the Fairy Godmother sings the song with her. She helped her, gave her the magic and now poor Cinderella is on her way to the grand ball...with her Fairy Godmother watching over her.

  • we used to watch this every year, they would show it at christmas!

    thank you, you tube!!!

  • OH I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!!

  • My favorite Cinderella ever!

  • OOOH so this is where Whitney and Brandy one got its songs from haha...i thought it started off in the other one

  • @crazychris1123 lol this is what that version of Cinderella is based off of.

  • @crazychris1123 The one with Whitney Houston was still better. You can not beat Whiteney's vocals

  • @trackness95 ya i agree...even though this was the original i still like Whitney's version better

  • @crazychris1123

that is not the original and the Whitney's version isn't the best. who cares about her voice.

  • @Dramactica what? lol i said its the best because i think it is and so do many people....your opinion isnt a fact so in my opinion it IS the best fyi :P oh and you not caring makes your comment invalid then? why are you even watching the video if you dont like either? o.0...makes me wonder

  • @crazychris1123

What? I don't know what are you talking about. I said that this video isn't the original and Whitney's voice doesn't make her version the best.

  • @crazychris1123 this isnt the origional lol the origional was 1957 with julie andrews

  • @ILUVCF1961 you guys arent getting the point -.-...nvm then

  • @trackness95 well, why don't we say they are both good.

  • Classic but as hoaky as it gets.

  • what movie is this from? I know is a cinderella movie but i dont know why but it just seems so wierd

  • this is innocent pure and beautiful

  • I saw all three versions of this, and they are etched in mind.

Uh-uh, don't figure out my age, LOLOLOLOL.

  • This is my all time favorite musical. I kow every line and song.

    Thanks so much for posting!

  • oh god the one with whitney and brandy is so much better

  • The first time I watched this movie is when I was 4 years old back in 1990s

It gives me goosebumps remembering our old house with all wonderful people around me while watching it. It's so sad that most of these people passed away :( During that time we used to cover our windows with aluminum foils because there were rumors about Saddam wanting to hit KSA with chemical weapons. Gosh this song opened a big gate in my mind to the past. Impossible ... It's possible ... :') ... I miss u mom :'(

  • @TheGoldenRatio87 Wow...that is truly beautiful....

  • I have no idea why, but this song poped into my head today and I haven't seen this since the 80's when I was 4 or 5.

  • ahhahaha 3:11, the carriage!!!

  • I like the Whitney and Brandy version of this song more. No offense! LOL The soul and feeling had me really believing the words!

  • Next to the Wizard of Oz on tv when we were kids, Cinderella was my 2nd favorite annual tv showing- I still love it

  • Yes, well do you know where we could watch the whole movie online for free??i've been searching and searching"" ?? please lemme know if yall know? i've also looked for serial mom with kathleen turner and Dad the angel and me with judge reijnhold???

  • man, the last time I saw this was probably 10 years ago!! Love this film.

  • I loved watching this as a young girl - it would come on once a year and I would have my popcorn ready and everyone had to be quiet the entire time! I shared it with my daughter when she was a young girl, although this time I could buy it on VHS. Now we watch it on YouTube and DVD! It's still the same - the most magical musical other than Beauty and the Beast, of course! Thank you for sharing this and letting me relive being a young girl again!

  • No other version of Cinderella compares to this one! My favorite forever!

  • wow... its flying.... XD

  • Thank you sooo much!!! This is my childhood memory!!!!! I wish there's a DVD to buy with!!!!

  • @kowei526

    It's available on Amazon

  • @adam32492 I've ordered it!!! Thank you so much Adam!!!:o)

  • Ginger Rogers is the best as the Fairy Godmother. I've seen all 3 versions, and I like her the best.

However, I think Julie Andrews made the sweetest Cinderella.

  • @storybellz Ginger is the Queen. Celeste Holm here is the Fairy Godmother. You weren't far off!! oh, wait a minute you've seen a version with Ginger as F.G????

  • Leslie Ann Warren was so very Beautiful in every way as Cinderella! I've always Loved this movie classic, I'm glad I had the opportunity to see it as a child and grow up with it!

  • it was like wizard of oz with bad cinematography

  • who knows were i can watch this virsion of Cinderella?

  • @mimadi90 i'd like to knwo too

  • love, love tis movie! this part lookS like it was made for KATE now PRINCESS CATHERINE........ITS POSSIBLE!

  • Just like The Wizard of Oz, this wonderful movie aired on TV one night a year when I was a kid, making those nights as exciting to me as Christmas Eve. And yes...the luminous Lesley Ann Warren simply sparkles...she OWNS this role.

  • thnx for sharing! i watched this probably a billion times when i was little!

  • Such an amazing movie with AMAZING (an understatement) songs :)

not many people know the Brandy version was a remake.. I still think this version is better!

  • I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE!! <3

  • ....No comment

  • It's fun to watch these clips knowing that Ms. Warren is a serious method actor.

  • the stockings in this movie are epic!

  • The carriage flying through the sky was awesome! Much better than computer animation!

  • I have always wanted a dress just like hers for my wedding gown...but without the black and white.

  • eeeehhh julie andrews was way better

  • I'm in this at school I'm the prince this wednesday I'm singing 2 solo my knees shake like jello when I sung in front of 80 other students.

  • Me and my sister used to watch this on the tape we had all the time!

  • the fairy godmother reminds me of Glinda from Wizard of Oz,

  • I must say Rodgers and Hammerstein's spectacle caused quite a franchise. My special favorite is morning musume's version, so colorful and fresh, also the outfits which were so deliciously over the top but didn't kill the mood.

  • @hayamatsuka Well, it's different when it's a stage production.

  • This is my past , and it's beautiful to still watch.

  • does anyone know if they are going to re-release this? they are selling it on amazon from 60-100 bucks, which is a rip off!

  • i love how they past the castle... when they were flying in their "Cartoon Carriage." lol

  • Great to see Celeste Holm.

  • They never show this on TV anymore. It was my favorite performance when I was a young gal! Thank you for posting this! "The world is full of zanies and fools...." ah, so true! It's Possible!

  • opps i dont type so good. Leslie Ann Warren. Thats better.

  • I love leslei ann warren

  • omg i love this movie. <3333333

  • agree totally just i hear julie andrews on the recording..

  • It only takes one shoe to change your life.....Cindrerella

    Are you ready?

  • this is my favorite Cinderella movie I LOVE IT Leslie Ann is awesome in this

  • THE ORGINAL IS STILL THE BEST AFTER ALL THESE YEARS! RIP Rodgers and Hammersteuin THE ORGINAL GENIUSES OF MUSICALS!

  • @countrywillneverdie this isn't the origianl...check out the julie andrews version--that is who this musical was written for! :)

  • I always loved this song and Leslie Ann Warren was beautiful, the perfect Cinderella.

  • Her mouth is crooked when she smiles lol

  • The only thing wrong is that they cut out the barbershop chords that coachmen and footmen do from the original Boradway show, but other than that. I really liked this scene when I last saw the movie.

  • @EvanTurkFilms this wasn't written as a Broadway show - it was written for television - and Richard Rodgers never wrote for Barbershop!

  • ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • ok i believe......................almost

  • omg...the brandy version was better...at least for me anywayz cuz im a teenager and its more modern!!!!!

  • @musicstah92 I agree, I think Brandy was a much better actress for the role of Cinderella likewise, Whitney was better for the fairygod mother. Plus, they sang much better too lol

  • @abbyfanduby you're categorically incorrect, dearie.

  • @BernardProfitendieu how do you mean?

  • @abbyfanduby exactly! Brandy & Whitney's voice meshed so well together. I prefer their version of the movie better also.

  • Comment removed

  • @keriah17 are u tryna cause drama cuz I am not down with that...i did not diss anybody...I said for me i prefer brandys version...no need to call anybody stupid...have a great day!!!!!!

  • This is absolutely the best! My childhood was a happy one because of things like this.

  • whitney was better!

  • I couldn't hear it too good.... VERY good acting though, but it still was nothing special to me, a 2 *.

  • are u kidding? this acting is hilarious!!!!! omg its so silly!

  • I think the good fairy godmother was very pretty.

  • Do they normally use the same actress for Cinderella, even when she changes into a dress? (could some one help me out, how do they normally do this scene?)

  • With my community theatre version they did this:

The "main" Cinderella couldn't find any mice to turn into horses, so she went to get her horse (the pantomime one) and she went to get changed.

A girl who was also blonde and in the rags came back on. They sang a song and at the end there was a pyrotechnic and the look-a-like quickly ran into the wing and the main Cinderella came back in, wearing her ball gown.

    Hope that helps.

    Jordan =]

  • there are tons of rodgers and hammerstiens cinderalla i dont know how to keep up wiv them cause i love em' soo

  • Cinderella reminds me of Audrey Hupburn. They look and sound alike.

  • @broadwaygirl0307 I'm sitting here reminiscing tonight.. Happy times in my life thinking about the beautiful music of Rogers and Hammerstein.. I saw your post and viewed your comment about: Cinderella reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. They look and sound alike. ... I'm just happy that you think of them both.. Timeless Beauties I'd say.... TI adore all the musicals back then.. but then again.. I love MUSIC!!!

  • wow..the er...singing...x.o

im gonna stick with my newer version with Brandy and Whitney Houston o.o..

  • amen :D

  • Oh, the memories... I used to love to watch this when it was on when I was little, now, I'm trying to get it for my granddaughter...

  • i used to watch it every time it was on tv when i was young...omg...the special effects!

  • Omg I love this. I used to watch this all the time when I was a very very little kid ^_^

  • lol the flying carriage

  • lesley ann warren also played mrs. scarlett from the movie clue. and is in cinderella as the leading lady her self.

  • OMG That's the women from Will & Grace! The women Will's dad has an affair with lol

  • Will's dad is straight? What about intergenerational nonstraightness?

  • This brings back memories!!!There is a version out with Lea Solonga which is just wonderful.

  • I loved, loved loved everything about this movie when I was a kid, and still do! Thought the entire production was just great. Loved the songs and singing, the Prince was awesome! It was Magical. A simpler time, glad I grew up then.

  • @jannieja Yes I agree...

  • @jannieja I know what you mean about a simpler time. Things weren't so expensive and it wasn't such a hard struggle every day just to make it thru. Cinderella was a movie that my Mum and I loved to watch together. She adored Leslie Ann Warren in this movie and I did too. I love the music in it to this day. I have the movie myself and still watch it.

  • @jannieja me too, me too, me too!!!!

  • Was it really that same Fairy God Mother

is the one who parted the sea for Moses

  • By the way,Celeste Holm, who played the fairy God-mother was not a singer but a very accomplished actress. This isn't the type of song that needs a great singer anyway.

  • Those of you who think the singing is bad are tone deaf. This is heaven compared to some of the junk today!

  • The song is good, i just don't like cinderellas voice...dosen't stand out much. But hey, thats just me. :P

  • soooo old school! haha!

  • yes, the singing is bad. but you have to remember, all of this was recorded live. there was no prerecording and getting it perfect. id like to see how you do with one run through of this song.

  • When Julie Andrews did the original production live in 1957 it was perfect. Of course no one can be compared to her. And just a little fact--the music was created for Julie. WOW!!

  • What is most amazing about Dame Andrews. . . Is the she was taken off the production of My Fair Lady to star in the T.V. production of Cinderella. . . All at the age of 22. . . AMAZING!!!! I love Julie Andrews!

  • i do not like this singing... it is HILARIOUS how when they are going to the ball, the horses are flying, and when you look, the four left legs are the only ones moving HAHAHA

  • Takes me back watching this ... I feel 5 yo again:) ty 4 posting

  • you could drink wine out of them shoes

  • I quite like this version but the singing is the worst of all versions...

  • Thank you SO MUCH for posting the ONLY Cinderella "possible"! :)

  • i love that cinderella dress!

  • Just like almost everyone else I usesd to watch this as a child. I was singing the songs the other day. Thanks for posting :)

  • Gee whiz, I found that video because of Julie Andrews, and it's so weird to see Lesley Ann Warren as Cinderella, after knowing her as a little bitch in Victor/Victoria ! ='P

  • OMG i cant believe i found this. Me and my cousin used to watch this all the time when we were kids...and sometimes act it out LOL.

  • I wish-that a production could be done with a god father.Thats-a part Id like to play. Its possible.........

  • I was humming this today. ^_^ I'm glad you posted it~

This song makes anything you think of (even challenges) possible.

    o_0

  • You can get this on dvd

  • Thanks for posting, I've only ever seen the Brandy version so trying to see as many clips as I can from the other two!

  • I love this movie I've own it it's very old and good
